Do you have a feel for the speed of the Maydan track compared to Churchill's? Forget all the other factors that come into play that help or hinder a horse's speed - just your opinion if you think CD might be X-lengths lengths faster than Meydan on an average day. I watched Shahama's UAE Oaks and thought she won it easily but have nothing to compare it with over here.

The Meydan track is not noticeably slower than CD . Indeed in recent years the track has become faster in order to attract more US based and bred runners . Therefore should not negatively impact Shahama’s chances in the Oaks . She was the outstanding filly by a country mile at this year’s Dubai meet but not sure about the quality of the opposition . Shame that Fawzi Nass is not the named trainer for the Oaks . Could we see paper trainers win both the classics this weekend. Btw if Crown Pride gets away from the gate ok I expect a big run from him .

My understanding is that Meydan's cushion is two inches deeper. Does not take into effect on how they harrow daily.

Thorographs figs have her races about 12 lengths slower than the better races from this group.
Also notable that she hasn't really improved, her first start got about the same fig as the 4th. Usually a big jump somewhere with the 3 year olds. maybe hers comes in the oaks. Pletcher/Prat combo certainly know how to get the best from a horse.
Half sibling to Looking At Lucky (Smart Strike) and Kensei (Mr Greeley), may be best at a mile. Last race got here worst speed fig and it was 9.5f. half furlong cutback probably helps a bit.
