Still 2 weeks out and waiting for PP draw and workouts, these are my early thoughts. White Abarrio was my top pick. The races I saw of him, show a horse with a nice turn of foot who should relish the trip. Only negatives are all his wins have come at Gulfstream and his figs are a touch light. He did bounce back from his Florida Derby with a very sharp 3f blowout. Mo Donnegal has moved up into a tie for top spot. Has the foundation, trainer and jockey to win this. The Wood was a big race and his closing fractions are very fast. I just grabbed him at 14/1 in Vegas. Zandon looks like the real deal from Chad.
Taking a stand against Epicenter, Messier and Taiba.
Longshots: I think Cyberknife is the best of the Cox horses and he's the NOW trainer. The horse seems to have gotten his act together. Crown Pride. It's just a matter of time before the Japanese win a Derby and this guy might be the one.
More comments to follow in the next few weeks. Comments appreciated Steve

My thinking on picking winners on the Derby and the Oaks will simply be to watch and act accordingly to a few commentators such as Jerry Bailey and the Mig. They know and go into detail about their picks and why they pick them. That may be the easy way out but it kinda makes sense,no?
Still on Zandon and the Grey.
Howdy Steve! Orioles all the way!

Hey Steve - some of the serious contenders to crash under in the exotics in my opinion are Charge It, Tiz the Bomb, Simplification, and Tawny Port.
Weird scenario is seeing Classic Causeway (and you have to throw out the last) jump out as he always does like a rocket and just go on a wet sealed track and that's that. It's something to consider and will pay. Big exacta pays last year. I'm not touting him as my winner, but I can see it in the right sealed scenario.
I can't stand your Mo's 1 hole. Lots of work for Ortiz to do there.
I think I'm with you on the CA horses this year. I guess we'll see how the shippers from there do on the Friday/Saturday undercard, but I'm leaning on playing against all three.
White Abarrio owes me nothing this year. I've already gotten mine from him, but he's hard not to like, but maybe only for a minor share.
