12 entries and an Also Eligible... a full field. That's nice. Can't shake the feeling McPeek has the goods in this race. @ 12/1 might be worth your consideration... good luck!

Race boasts two Baffert, two O'Neill, a Callaghan, Mandella, and Papaprodromou.
I'm thinking Doppelganger wins this race & receives ZERO Kentucky Derby points. It makes no sense to me that owners of Baffert trained hopefuls aren't changing barns.

Giant Game had surgery to fix his breathing since last race. I knew he flipped and "figured" he had the surgery. I rarely bet those first race back. I have no thoughts about this race, since I don't play GS, and dislike highly speed-favoring tracks for prep races like this because it doesn't tell me much about the true classicity of the horses. This field is one in which at least 5 of the horses, if they make the KY Derby gate, would probably do well. Off top of my head, Emmanuel, AP Secret and In Due Time seem like improving sorts. At this age, who even knows. I will just use this as a yardstick for other upcoming preps, not wagering this one at all. Good luck to everyone and to each horse as well. |

McPeek's best 3yo at GP is his first time starter in R4 on Saturday. i had that one in my virtual stable, and tuned in to watch. I thought he was quite good and that late kick was encouraging. He almost won. WHere do you think McP will send him next? His horse in the FOY needed the race, was off way too long. I like him a tad better than Smile Happy but they aren't in my top 3 Hope we get to see Emannuel again, too. He's better than the way he ran today. " One thing you can say about Simplification, he handles adversity and wins. His last out he had a bad break at the gate, this time he went so wide I thought the cameramen were going to have make a move. But each time, he wins. And on his left lead no less. |
