Pletcher has so many Derby candidates (he has two in FOY) that it must be tough separating them . Another one I like with a similar progression as Major General is Charge It.

Extrapolating...
1ST in the Lexington
1ST in the Kentucky Derby 10TH in the Preakness
Then... 1ST in the Belmont 1ST in the Breeders' Cup Classic and
2022 Horse Of The Year!
