instead of apologizing he should have hired Bob Baffert's lawyers Not sure what rules he broke to get a 2 year suspension but must have something to do with a player being required to place his/her own selections. There are always rules violations at these big events...just saying.

"instead of apologizing he should have hired Bob Baffert's lawyers " Aiii! that's all racing needs I took a look at the rules...seems this is the one that got him in hot water, though there must be other circumstances we're unaware of for the length and breath of the penalty. 42. Unless authorized by NHC Officials, every person who is an official NHC qualifier (“Qualifier”) must be physically present at the Contest site to compete in the Contest.

He first got approval from NTRA to stay in his room and have a runner put the plays in downstairs. Then didn't stay in his room, but went to Florida. The setup/scheme of trying to knowingly circumvent the rules, likely drew the suspension. Not that he cares much I'm sure, the only NHC contest he has played in for the last two years was the BCBC.
