As a licensed pari-mutuel teller, I could get us in free and with Jeff springing for the room, we were set! This is the new hotel across the street from the race track... beautiful with a friendly staff and location, location, location!

In our late teens and early twenties, we would park at the mall next to the racetrack and jump the chain link fence, so we wouldn't have to pay parking. There were days we would go early in the morning and stay all day. If you did it right, you didn't have to pay entry. And that... was enough for a couple extra bets!
Well sir, our fence jumping days are long gone. Fortunately, my retired friend can now enjoy the finer things in life... and what better way to enjoy those finer things, than to share them with your best buddy badactor?
It was Room Service for breakfast! ☺ Besides, it was 44 degrees out there... brrrrrr. lol.

Fantastic photos Dell! I hope you and Jeff cashed some tickets. Le Meridien looks very nice, the track-view rooms are everything. I'd sit out on the balcony handicapping (edit- just noticed, no balconies, that's a shame), with that inspiring scenery (44 degrees is warm to some of us right now . Remember, "no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing" ~ Norwegian saying.) Glad you guys had a great time. Did you dine at the hotel? Restaurant looked good. TW

Jeff disapproves of the way I order steaks... doesn't want to sit at the same table with me if I'm going to ruin a good steak by ordering it well done.
The restaurant is Japanese fusion... okay. To me, Japanese indicates raw fish... and to my mind, the only thing that should be raw at my table is the soda and the salad.
We walked to In-N-Out.
