This one is for Meydan World Carnival races: The competition includes all races that are part of the Dubai World Cup Carnival at Meydan Racecourse between the dates of Friday, 14 January 2022 and Saturday, 26 March 2022 (Dubai World Cup Carnival meetings are on Friday, 14 January 2022, Friday, 21 January 2022, Friday, 28 January 2022, Friday, 4 February 2022, Friday, 11 February 2022, Friday, 18 February 2022, Friday, 25 February 2022, Saturday, 5 March 2022 and Saturday, 26 March 2022). This will be a lot shorter than the most recent Godolphin contest. The stable changes will come up much more frequently.
Diablo, as I recall you had a very respectable showing in last year's Meydan World Carnival contest. Success to you in this year's version.

Bumping this up as a reminder for those who are interested in playing. Nine cards including Super Saturday and World Cup night, and only five stable changes (partial/complete) allowed, so timing will be extra important. Good luck and hope to see some UIC names on the leaderboard.

3 graded races each in wk 1 and week 2, But Godolphin only has entries in one graded race this week. Will jump in next week and hope there are more graded entries.

As 5 wide suggested, the key is determining which of the days to play and which to pass. For those of who choose to play on Day 1, our stables will probably be very similar.

Tied for 13th with 1090 points thanks to getting 200 bonus points for predicting Star Safari would be second. Happy with that start but it gets more difficult from now on !

Those bonus races have been my downfall - I'm 0 for all of the bonus races so far, which has led to my being mired on 101th place with 1870 points. In the first of the Group 2 races, I outsmarted myself - of the 5 Godolphin horses that were entered, I included the 4 that I thought had a chance of picking up some points. Naturally, it was the 5th one, Desert Fire, that won the race at over 25-1 odds.
Now the difficult decision begins to arise - with 7 race days remaining in the Dubai World Cup Carnival and only 4 swaps, I need to figure out which days to not make a stable swap. The easy answer is to find a day when Godolphin doesn't have enough entrants to fill up a full stable, but with their huge number of available horses, I sincerely doubt whether that will ever happen.

Ya, seems it's all about the bonus races. Tried a couple of strategies but can't compete when the first place people are hitting them all, with random placings such as a 7th in a 16 horse field!
27th is great Bev! I reloaded and hit a bonus for 200 too and went backwards from 89 to 92

Bonus strategy play all to win. 5 bonus races will yield 1000 points. Playing the bonus for the long run not just a huge score on 1 race which is impossible.

I made a huge move up after today, now in 56th with 3380 points. Got 600 bonus points today, nailing the winner, third, and seventh. Good luck trying to do that again.
I see a funkymonkey in 2nd place, not sure if that is our own 'tc' or someone else. Bev still holding his spot (23rd, 3720), JolyB is in 84th (3220), and khoney is in 220th (2420). Those were the only names I recognized in the top 250. Long way to go.

It's inevitable that those of us who choose not to swap are going to lose a lot of ground. But, during the course of the contest there will be three race days when we can't swap - it's just a matter of choosing when.
Hopefully those who don't swap can make it up in the bonus races.

I used a modified 5wide approach and picked Global Storm, Volcanic Sky and Kingswear for 1st, then Global Heat and Brilliant Light for 6th and Bin Battuta and Dubai Horizon (who scratched) for 10th. No science to the method, just a guess as to where they might end up. Global Sky won and Global Heat was 6th, so I netted 400 points.
Hopefully this will partially compensate for the ground I am going to lose by not making a stable switch this week.
