New Year's Day 'You're In The Money' Contest- LIVE!

[tenfurlongs]

Trying something different with the scoring in this one, hopefully it proves to be enjoyable. In each of the twelve races, pick one horse to finish ITM (first, second, or third). Horses within each race will be assigned point values, roughly based on m/l odds (4-1 = 4 pts., etc.) Horses will also be color-coded by low-odds (green), mid-priced (red), and longshots (purple). Players must use five green, five red, and two purple only. Players receive the point value for their horse if it finishes ITM. In case of a scratch, player gets next-lowest point value horse as the substitute (not stuck with the post-time favorite, which you probably didn't want). Winners based on total points accumulated over the twelve races. Top two finishers get $22 wagers on the Pegasus World Cup card at GP on January 29, 2022. 

First contest race is 9:18am ET on Saturday, New Year's Day. Good luck, and enjoy a prosperous 2022!

Yeah, I felt that fifteen races might be too many, so settled on twelve, dropping one from Meydan, and two from Santa Anita with small fields and uncertain weather/track conditions.

I had considered that Bryon, but wondered if having to select and post 24 horses (instead of just 12) would turn off some players who didn't want to put in the effort. As a player, I would always want my own alternate selection, not a PTF or random substitute. I'll probably take your suggestion next time. Thanks!
