Need a reason to back this horse? Here's one: "two out of the last three Del Mar Futurity winners (Nyquist and American Pharoah) went on to win the Kentucky Derby"

On paper the San Felipe looks like a three horse race(1,4,8) but my tickets will have #3 Ayacara in the mix.
Only horse to have worked on slop and 5f bullet two back has me thinking he's ready to move forward like his stablemate My Boy Jack did in the Southwest. He'll have to move way up to contend if any of the favorites fire but those Desormeaux brothers are always dangerous.
Pace should set up for him to get in the mix if he does fire.
Looks like rain all afternoon there so Bolt might scratch if you can believe his trainer and I have some distance concerns with Kanthanka stretching out.

I don't know about the DQ, but Bolt did look like the better horse to me. I have a feeling he would have run right by McKinzie had they not bumped at the top of the stretch. Don't think extra distance will be a problem. Looking good. Jink.
