R3 (12:00noon ET)- 1m½f Handicap (Class 4) (3yo 0-85)
Field of five, could turn into a slow-paced tactical slog. #1- Darwell Lion (6-1) is taking all the money, apparently because of the purchase of this horse by trainer O'Meara from an Irish yard, following a win at Newcastle last Friday with another horse making the same move. Has been facing better company, but not sure he has the pace to handle a slow-early/fast-late race. #4- Enfranchise (8-5) hasn't missed the board in four tries, won at Lingfield ten days ago in handicap debut against lesser, needs to improve again but every reason to believe she will. Has made all the running previously. #2- Tricolore (3-1) is where I first landed, but on re-examination he seems to want more distance than this, may get involved too late.
EX- 1,4/1,2,4
R4 (12:30pm ET)- 7f Novice Stakes (Class 5) (3yo+)
No bet here, but rooting interest in #6- Madame Glitters (7-2), second time starter and half sister to multiple-GI winner Lord Glitters, out of French 2000 Guineas winner Style Vendome. Sire hasn't produced much, but maybe there is still magic in the dam. O'Meara and Watson again.
R5 (1:00pm ET)- 7f Handicap (Class 4) (3yo+ 0-85)
Hard to go past the two highweights. #1- If You Dare (5-2) ran a blinder two back unchallenged, only carries 4lb higher today and has a cozy inside post. #2- Sir Oliver (5-2) has had a short break since September, is very consistent on good turf/fast AW, every chance again today. Hoping both of them drift up a bit from the m/l odds, with two maidens poised to take some action.
EX- 1,2/1,2,4,8,9
