Tampa Bay Downs has three decent turf races on the card: TAM R5 (2:40pm ET)- MSW 1 1/16 Mile (T) 3&up, F & Mwww.brisnet.com/cgi-bin/briswatch.cgi/public/WilliamIMott/MOTT+WILLIAM+I/9999/summary.html1,4 have no chance. #2- Richebourg (7-2) has been in KY with Mott since mid-summer, but no works showing since 11/8 (?) #3- Zuri (5-1) is NOT a turf horse, so even Harty, who's started off the meet on fire, can't work his magic on this one, right (?) #6- Weezy Does It (4-1) is a FTS for Reeve McGaughey, son of Shug, who has a small string at TAM for the winter. Owner/breeder is Andrew Rosen, who has had much success with Shug, but he's flying under the radar with this ownership LLC. Dam was a decent turf runner and has produced well on the turf, sire Nyquist seems like he is going to throw turf horses, Gallardo takes the ride. Thinking he'll run well, but short, on his debut. Tab for next time/third time. Delacour has two entered: #7- Like Nowhere Else (6-1) flopped badly in two-turn dirt debut, doesn't seem to be bred for the grass, pass. #8- Kitten Tales (5-2) was with Clement in the big-leagues for two starts, needed class relief and ran ok in three starts at lesser venues. Dam has two stakes winners, one going long on turf, one a dirt sprinter. Could win this but everyone else would need to run below par. That leaves #5- Timbrel (5-1) from Augustin Stable/Jonathan Thomas. Had one AW try, an even effort going 6F. Stretches out today to better distance/proper surface. Dam was a stakes-winner and has already produced Theodora B, which won the Dance Smartly (GII) at WO going 10F. Picks up Centeno, who could go right to the front and never look back, as there appears to be little early pace signed on. In any case, just hoping the odds hold >= 3-1.BIG WIN- 5 TAM R7 (3:48pm ET)- OC 32000n2x 1 1/16 Mile (T) 3&up www.brisnet.com/cgi-bin/briswatch.cgi/public/WilliamIMott/MOTT+WILLIAM+I/9999/summary.html#1- Obiwan (12-1) has had a fine season as a 4yo, and his TAM turf efforts have fallen off the page on the PPs. He's been razor sharp all season, and in his last he was running against the best horses on the grounds at TDN, including Strike Appeal, who is running in the Claiming Crown Jewel ($125K) at GP tomorrow. Definite overlay at m/l odds, but Gallardo aboard might negate some of it. #3- Newsworthy (4-1) for Mott seems best on paper off big KD victory last time. But why ship here for meager purse money rather than have a go at GP n2x (purse $62K)? Using 4,5,7 underneath as well. WIN- 1 EX- 1,3/1,3,4,5,7 TAM R9 (4:50pm ET)- CLM 16000N3L 1 Mile (T) 3&up, F & M www.brisnet.com/cgi-bin/briswatch.cgi/public/KathleenOConnell/O'CONNELL+KATHLEEN/9999/summary.html (link is broken, must copy and paste) Chaotic-race potential, going to try #9- Beautiful Tiz (8-1) to run down the speed under Hector Diaz, Jr. Last two were her best yet, turf record 11/2-1-2, usually runs her good races from well off the pace. 3yo Tiznow filly may still have a little improvement in her. WIN- 9 TW

TW, there has to be a reason the $1 million filly is on the turf but I can't figure out why. Not much turf in the family.

TW, there has to be a reason the $1 million filly is on the turf but I can't figure out why. Not much turf in the family. Her two dirt starts for Mott were crap, ran ok on AW with class-relief, two turf races were way up the track. Maybe she has big, flat, slow feet TW
