Actors don't usually maintain friendships after a job is done... close "like a family" working together. Not so much after wrap! For the most part, I think actors don't really care for other actors. It wasn't like that with us. Nearly 25 years of a great friendship. It's rare. He was an inspiration to me and I'm going to miss him. My buddy, Eddie Mekka, passed away on Saturday. I loved him!

sorry for your loss, Dell.
hopefully the 25 years of memories and friendship will help to lessen the grief and sadness.

Sad and smiling at the same time... that is the magic of Eddie Mekka LOL.
Never played the ponies with him but we sure did play a lot of video poker when we lived at Buffalo Bills state line in Nevada. And every time we went into Vegas to shoot... Between shots we were at the bar playing video poker going after those darn Royals... We took turns hitting them... 6 weeks living in a casino making a movie. It was a dream come true.

We had made plans to go to Santa Anita.
He wanted me to teach him about the horses.
The program for the show we were going to do together...

I'm having wine tonight so no proofreading.
It's just that it could happen at any moment with any one of us and has probably has before that and we just don't know... So before I go and while I still can let me tell you how much I appreciate everybody who's ever been part of anything that has ever happened here on this wonderful forum (time).

losing long term friends causes mortality to hit you in the face I have lost so many of my core trusted friends that I sometimes feel isolated and wonder why I am still around Great memories are something to hold, though I would give anything for one more conversation with many of my lost pals--so many amazing adventures it can be especially tough during the holiday season
We had an amazingly enjoyable run with our grandchildren, but now they are married and in law school and going for master degree--not to mention all family 1000 miles away)
We can only feel fortunate to have had those friendships and great memories, while looking forward to future relationships and adventures
UIC has always been interesting to imagine the true personalities of those here that I haven't had the pleasure to meet---and it has always been enjoyable spending time with those that I have met

Special voice, special song. The chorus. And the seasons they go round and round And the painted ponies go up and down We're captive on the carousel of time We can't return we can only look Behind from where we came And go round and round and round In the circle game

I feel for you Dell. I am privileged to know you and I'm sure he felt the same about you.
