I don't know why anyone would bet on the NFL product this year.

Good point Hoop. But I have to bet the Cowboys -4' vs. the Saints tonight. Dallas is getting some key players back and while I respect Taysom Hill as a good QB/RB they have both tackles hurt. Almost seems like a sucker bet. So hoop...If they made you the Commish what changes would you make to improve the product?

Realignment Full time officials Replay only on scoring plays Add a running into the QB option, 5yards and no automatic first down. Some of these 15 yard and automatic first down penalties are brutal I have no idea how to fix the defensive pass interference problems. I hate that all receivers are throwing their hands up after every incomplete pass, getting to be unwatchable Been enjoying the games less, but still watch the Pats every week

Realignment is an interesting idea. Any idea which teams you would move to and to where? Full-time officials for sure. Come up with some kind of pay scale based on certain factors. Never made sense to me why the NFL never paid refs a healthy salary. They control the game. The roughing of the QB penalty is a joke because there is no consistency. I get it the players are bigger and stronger than they have ever been but while the QB's are the cash cows on most teams, many season-ending injuries to QB's are for other reasons than getting creamed by a defensive player. For me, college football is still my favorite. I'm sure you remember Bobby Douglas from Da Bears Hoop. Now THAT QB would give as good as he got. We need more QBs like that IMO.

I agree—roughing the qb and pass interference penalties are deciding too many games this year.

I watch the Sunday night game every week (don't feel like watching TV in the middle of the day, thursday/monday night announcers are grating) and the quality of that broadcast has been really good for the last few years.
When I see pass interference called, it usually looks like pass interference to me.
Instead of calling less flags, the defensive backs need to do a better job of not interfering. Most just aren't talented enough to cover big, fast, elusive receivers. Maybe the high schools and colleges need to take undersized , skilled receivers and teach them how to play defense to increase the talent pool. Maybe the teams need to scheme better and force QBs to get rid of the ball....but don't dare touch them RIGHT after they throw the ball!!- I agree that THOSE drive-continuing personal foul penalties are way too frequent and should not be an automatic first down.....pendulum has swung too far toward protecting QB at the expense of game flow.
Pass interference- keep the rules the same, get better players Roughing the passer- change the rules, change the penalty...make it harsher for true late cheapshots including ejection, more lenient for late hits between the waist and head, right after release, without follow through landing on top of the QB
