Good luck with your BPOTD Dell. This is an interesting race that I might have missed, so thanks for posting about it. My take follows.
Looks like a lot of these want to be forwardly placed in the running. #1- Optimising (3-1) has done little wrong in three starts, breaking his maiden on the AW in GB in June. First US run was a close-up fourth behind MacKinnon, which subsequently won the Zuma Beach S. and then ran third in the BC Juv Turf. Last out was a half-length second to Astronomer in the Qatar Golden Mile on the BC Friday undercard. Solid turf rider Rispoli hops aboard today, could sit a nice inside trip with options if the field gets stretched out by a contested pace. 2,4,7 all want to run the same race, should insure at least a sturdy pace in here. Stotland had trouble in only start, but was going the wrong way when it happened. #9- Get Back Goldie (6-1) definitely jumped up first time turf, has three nice works in the interim, should be a player at or above his m/l odds. #10- Verbal (5-2) was visually impressive in debut win by four, basically under a hand ride. Outside draw shouldn't hurt him as he wants to run late. Big chance with normal second start improvement. #11- Lottery Pick (8-1) comes out of the Cabo Spirit MSW race, was only asked for run once they turned for home, made a belated bid for fourth. Big jockey upgrade to Prat today, and another who shouldn't be hurt much by the outside draw. Optimising may have a tactical advantage, but if they go too fast early, no surprise to see Verbal motor by them.
EX- 1/9,10,11
Some nice turf races on the card at DMR today, I'll be playing them.
