Me too hoop. I saw the Moodies twice. I think what they shared with most groups who lasted a long time is that their sheer joy in performing came through

I deleted my post as it just duplicated your original. That song is so good maybe it does deserve a double post!

Another good one hoop, I agree. I always liked the Moodies album covers. In fact I always liked album covers generally, and LPs. To quote Joe Walsh: : I'm an analog man living in a digital world.
I had Sergeant Pepper out a couple of nights ago (New vinyl pressed in 2017 on Parlophone. It had an insert that wasn't included with the original, which detailed all of the people depicted on the front cover. It also pointed out that it was the first LP with the lyrics included on the gatefold. It was considered controversial at the time because Sheet Music companies were afraid that their sales would go down. Apparently they felt some people bought sheet music for access to the lyrics? As for the music on Sgt Pepper itself, I've gone from being blown away when I first bought in on release in 1967 without having heard a single cut off it beforehand, to maybe downgrading it a little bit over there years compared to Rubber Soul/Revolver/White Album/ Abbey Road, to where I've come full circle and am back to feeling that it is truly brilliant. In particular to cite one of the lesser played cuts- "She's Leaving Home" is fantastic in so many ways from story to pacing to harmonies.

Used to debate Rubber Soul vs Revolver with Gooch. I'd always land on Rubber Soul as their best. Personal preference.

Graeme Edge, drummer and co-founding member of the Moody Blues, has died at the age of 80. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-inducted British prog band announced Edge’s death Thursday. No cause of death was revealed. “It’s a very sad day. Graeme’s sound and personality is present in everything we did together and thankfully that will live on,” Moody Blues singer Justin Hayward wrote on Facebook. “When Graeme told me he was retiring, I knew that without him it couldn’t be the Moody Blues anymore. And that’s what happened. It’s true to say that he kept the group together throughout all the years, because he loved it.” I still have Franks digits but get no response when I leave a message. Gooch was a cool guy. As far as the MB go, Nights in White Saturn will always be my favorite. As for the Beatles, I've managed to get my hands on a dozen vinyl's, framed and hanging in our living room. Found an old black n white poster with John, Paul, George and Pete Best.

Always enjoyed the Moodys—-particularly Lost Chord through Children’s Children—-honestly never listen to them now. Did see them live back in 71, with Van Morrison Street Choir opening.
Two of my short list Beatles lps—-Rubber Soul was a diversion towards an acoustic / folk , while Revolver was an intro in to an orchestral future and a socio / introspective message approach imo. Somewhat expanded to Sgt P, Mystery Tour and Submarine before going back to the raw bare approach of the White and Let it Be lps. Don’t much care for most of the White lps.
Gooch and I had an unfortunate history based on lifestyle/ political philosophy, however we were on the same page most of the time with our musical leanings.
