The stars were aligned for what may be a game that could be remembered for many years. The Commish plans on laying a game on this field yearly. Amazing 9th inning. Extra special for me because I love the Red Sox and hate the Yankeres!

Wow, I can't believe I missed this. Had no idea MLB was doing this. Actual game could have been a snoozefest or a blowout, but they got that. Glad to hear that they'll do it every year, so two new teams get the experience each time (though most of these guys weren't even born when the movie was made.)

Next season it will be the Reds vs. the Cubs. I wonder if Kevin Coster will be there. James Earl Jones would be cool. It will be hard to beat a bottom of the 9th walk off HR!

Phil Alden Robinson directed. Knowing where to put the camera, in an original way, always stands out IMO. As Ray and Moonlight Graham stroll the street at night back to the doctor's office, there is suddenly a long shot from the bottom of a set of stairs, illuminated by Victorian streetlights, with steam rising from a manhole. A dog barks in the distance. It is only for a few seconds, and the next cut takes us back to a typical ground level "two men walking" shot. That shot from below added so much depth (three-dimensionality), atmosphere and realism to that scene it was startling. Hats off to the director and DP.
Also, Burt Lancaster is pretty good at acting...
