Anyone else heading to vegas for the NHC?
I believe TC and Eddie both opted not to push for a seat with the covid unknowns last year.
I'll try to post some updates here if anyone wants to follow along.

Good luck, Eric. Since I'm not there this year I'm hoping you win it all Usually I'm hoping you will finish 2nd but this year I've upgraded you on my wish list! Definitely keep us posted on your success.

I'm sure you'll get most of your handicapping done the night before and make adjustments during the day,but what are the chances(and what would they allow) as far as taking some video(GoPro,phone)of the tournament and posting here. (We'd probably be the only forum doing so) Might bring more views here and I'm sure everyone would get a kick out of the coverage and rooting you along. (of course nothing that would interfere with your chances)

Thanks guys. Interesting idea eye123. TO be honest the last few big tourneys I have stopped doing much work the day before. with 4 days in a row (I'm also playing in the last/first chance contest on Thursday) it's hard to stay ahead and so much can change with weather. My usual game plan is to get to be super early, like the 7-8PM west coast time. Races end, I gab some dinner, usually run $20 through a quarter slot to unwind a bit and go to bed. Up about 3 am west coast time (6 am my time and when I usually get up) and get started on the cards.
Anyway... Steve Byk is going to be onsite and there are bunch of pretty active people on twitter now. I'll see if I can do a few quick videos to post here though.

Say 1 in the books
Sitting at 89th ($95.80) and 194th ($70.20). Leader is at 165.90.
Made it up to 19th for a bit before a parade of bombs (I didnât have) in the mandatories.
Did manage to win a qualifiers on horsetourneys (Keeneland and Kentucky downs live bankroll contests) and did ok in the Friday cash game.

The 70 ticket from day 1 made it to 141, but fell about $30 short of making the cut to play day 3. Planets of typical what ifâs, highlighted by 4 seconds with big prices, skipping a 10-1 early and getting distracted and missing a 7-1 later.
Contest experience has been first rate all the way. Great fob by NTRA. Iâd suggest everyone who likes this should attempt to get here at least once. It is exhausting though. Lol.
Conso tourney for the loser starts shortly, $10k first prize wouldnât suck. It would really make missing the cut hurt though. Same format for the top 56 to cut to the top 10.

Good luck today ELK. A friend of mine (Mike Yarusso) sits in 6th place. I'll be watching and rooting hard for him.

Good luck today ELK. A friend of mine (Mike Yarusso) sits in 6th place. I'll be watching and rooting hard for him. Hey Otis, I didn't know Mike was a friend of yours. I've met both him and his daughter Cara at the NHC on a few occasions. Both seem like great individuals. Hoping Mike does well today. Think the last time I was at the NHC Mike and I had a conversation about genealogical research he was doing on his family. He came to talk to me about it because he had discovered that he had ancestors in his family lineage that had the same last name as I do. So, he wanted to know where in Italy my ancestors were from. Maybe we are related? And, no I'm not making this long lost relative story up just in case Mike wins the NHC Are you in Minnesota as well? I think that is where the Yarusso's are currently. Tell them Tony Calabrese says hi and wishes them both the best of luck today. Good luck Eric. Take down the consolation tourney today.

TC: I first met Mike and Cara in Vegas at one of the handicapping contests in Vegas years ago. Since then Mike and his family have been in a yearly football pool I run and we would meet up at the Gold Coast or the Orleans at their tournaments. They are indeed in Minnesota while I'm in New Jersey. Great people for sure and I would love to see Mike win this thing.

I saw that Greg Knepper missed out on the final ten table by 10 cents . Thatâs got to be tough to take.
