Feature race (1:55EDT) is the Heron Stakes (Listed) for 3yo at a mile. I've been following Highland Avenue since January on the AW at Kempton Park. He's a neck short of being a perfect 4-of-4, just missing on debut going a too-short-for-his-best 7F. Last out at Newmarket in his turf debut he won the Listed Feilden S. going 9F, but they plan on keeping him at a mile for now, with an entry in the St. James Palace (GI) at Royal Ascot on the table. Hollie Doyle was very impressed with him when she took the Road to the Kentucky Derby Condition Stakes with him, and Jamie Doyle (no relation) was also surprised by his gears last time on the grass. Charlie Appleby looks to be taking a patient approach with him, and his progressive form signals more to come. Fun race to watch (or wager on) with a few other potential stakes type involved, including two from the Gosden yard (Mithras, Mostahdaf) and the infamous Nando Parrado, which upset the Coventry S. (GII) at Royal Ascot last year at 150-1.

Sandown (12:55EDT)- 3yos going the Melrose/St. Leger distance of 14F. #3- Zinc White (2-1) won impressively on seasonal debut as a FTG, handled the distance and similar ground with aplomb. Main rival appears to be The Queen's #1- Pied Piper (3-1) from Team Gosden, which finished second on reappearance going this distance on the AW. Was progressive on the turf in three tries last year, improvement expected.
EX- 1,3/1,2,3,4
Sandown (1:25EDT)- 3yos traveling 10F, short field of four. Two of them won at the distance last time, with #5- Something Enticing (4-1) the victor at Nottingham over soft ground. Hollie Doyle climbs back aboard this filly. #3- Siskany (5-2) is Appleby/Godolphin, progressive in three starts and looks the one to beat.
EX- 5/All
Sandown (1:55)- 1m Heron Stakes (Listed Race) (Class 1) (3yo) #1- Highland Avenue (9-5) carries a 3lb penalty for Listed win last time going 9F, turns back to a mile and will take some beating in here. #2- Bullace (15-1) has an identical record as the favorite (4/3-1-0), looked sharp beating a field of ten over the testing Rowley course at Newmarket last time. Must use at the price.
EX- 1,2/All
Sandown (2:55)- 3up f&m going 9F. #1- Topanticipation (5-1) is the highweight, also a maiden, but ran a race here last September that could win this heat. #5- Urban Violet (6-1) is 4/1-1-2 on turf, handles all ground, makes handicap debut today at a fair weight.
EX- 1,5/2,3,8
Good luck if you play!

Mostahdaf winning on soft ground he appeared to dislike points to a colt that could jump to a big one at Royal Ascot.

EX- 1,3/1,2,3,4 Result: 3,5,1 Zinc White ($4.00) is clearly a different animal from last year, drawing of by seven lengths over soft ground that he apparently relishes. Pied Piper had the length of the stretch to catch the longtime leader, but could never get past. Drop back to 12F seems wise.Sandown (1:25EDT)- 3yos traveling 10F, short field of four. EX- 5/All Result: 3,5,2 Siskany ($4.20) went to the front under Buick, ran a very moderate pace under no pressure from his three opponents, and had enough in the tank to see them off by three lengths while not impressing. Something Enticing was the only horse to change position from the running order, running on well at the end to grab second after sitting behind the whole way 'round.Sandown (1:55)- 1m Heron Stakes (Listed Race) (Class 1) (3yo) #1- Highland Avenue (9-5) carries a 3lb penalty for Listed win last time going 9F, turns back to a mile and will take some beating in here. #2- Bullace (15-1) has an identical record as the favorite (4/3-1-0), looked sharp beating a field of ten over the testing Rowley course at Newmarket last time. Must use at the price. EX- 1,2/All Result: 6,1,2 Indeed a fun race to watch as Bullace got first run on the pacesetters while Highland Avenue came up the rail and Mostahdaf ($10.60) went wide and had just enough left to dispatch his two rivals at the wire, with a length covering the three of them. Find the replay. None of the three had been on soft ground before, not sure that any of them liked it, they just endured it. Watch all three going forward.Sandown (2:55)- 3up f&m going 9F. #1- Topanticipation (5-1) is the highweight, also a maiden, but ran a race here last September that could win this heat. #5- Urban Violet (6-1) is 4/1-1-2 on turf, handles all ground, makes handicap debut today at a fair weight. EX- 1,5/2,3,8 Result: 5,1,7 Exacta- $17.50 Urban Violet ($8.60) had a horror show trip through the first half of the race, running up on heels, bumping, getting pinched along the rail, until she dropped to the back of the field. Undaunted, she blasted up the rail side as the field headed towards the middle through the straight, powering by and making them all look ordinary, winning by eight. Instantly into the Stable Watch!Good luck if you play! TW
