Nice tribute to the voice of Tampa Bay Downs for the past 37 years who retired yesterday.

Grunder used to call the races up here in the late 70's early 80's. While nobody would call him a slave to accuracy )(or pronunciation) he did manage to hold a job for 40+ years calling the races and there were many people that pointed out that the last winner he called was Friendly Fella and they thought it couldn't have been more appropriate. I haven't met anybody (outside of the twitter trolls) who have bad word to say about him.

Some voices are just synonymous with their track. John Curran at Delaware and Keith Jones are Parx both retired late last year after announcing for many years. Grunder on Sunday. You knew it was Tampa when you heard his voice. I still remember my one trip to Vegas for the NHC and Grunder gave a shout out to us prior to the first race each day. His style was quirky and unique and he'll be missed.
