in surgery... multiple leg injuries.
Tiger Woods "was extricated from the wreck with the 'jaws of life' by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics" before being transported to a local hospital, authorities say.

I hope the late night talk shows won't be too brutal 0n Tiger...Cats do have nine lives. Even Tigers?

Not sure you appreciate the severity of the accident, Spanky. I imagine any late night show host making jokes about this would be rightly denounced.

I hear ya Bev and agree. My bad. I hope Tiger is not seriously injured of course. But if he's not and after he has completely healed I can see the jokes coming. THat's what I meant. Tiger has always had an uneven history with the media I think.
Police say Tiger suffered multiple leg injuries but not expected to be life threatening. Tiger is in rare company of being popular. Like Elvis or the Beatles.

The "jaws" where not needed as per the Fire Chief. They used an ax to break the break the windshield to get him out. Fax' The5 said one leg had 2 or 3 breaks and the other leg's ankle was "crushed" That was at about 4:15 CST. This is not chiseled in stone.

I'll carefully choose my words but c'mon...Tiger broke his leg and ankle. A shame for sure but enough is enough. He's recovering in a hospital bed. Half of the LA Police brass has gone on TV to explain a guy who was speeding and rolled his SUV. Again, it is unfortunate. Playing career is in jeopardy. Lucky to be alive officials say. No drugs or booze is thought to be involved (although no blood was drawn).
Tiger has access to millions upon millions of bucks. Given his past driving "incidents" I wonder why a man with a yacht and private plane does not have a full-time chauffeur. JUst sayin'....

But do you agree on anything I said Bev? Your take on the situation? Many immediately compared the Tiger crash with the Kobe incident even though Kobe's crash, while tragic, is not in the same atmosphere as a broken leg. I appreciate Tiger's goal of catching Jack's majors won record, but I don't think anyone saw that happening. One thing I found interesting but have not seen mentioned is the irony between Tigers crash and the crash that Ben Hogan suffered. Hogan went on to win a major.

I would expect the mental healing will be more difficult for Tiger than the physical rehab. Lot of darkness after a severe accident from personal experience.

Sticking my 2cts in based on what I've heard from numerous voices on the computer from "golf" and "medical" types to date: Odds of Tiger to ever win another tournament - "nil" Odds that he'll even ever play in a tournament again in a third stage PGA tournament - almost zero. I have no idea what that means but I think it means he can't use a cart in the tournament.
It seems a bit too early to be making those predictions but they may have info the public hasn't heard yet.
If all that is mostly accurate I'm sure Nike will sign him to a life time contract and maybe even make him a VP. If able, he'll join Jack and Gary making the first drive to kick off the tournament season. Whatever the final results I think Tiger will still have his hands full in the game.
