About two months ago,
I planted a handful of seeds... This is my tiny little universe... Cosmos & Sunflowers.
Do you enjoy gardening?
Flowers? Vegetables?

My gardens are full of peonies, daylilies, iris, lavender and black-eyed susans. 2 hummingbird feeders and a bird feeder that had cardinals and blue jays today. Can't wait for the spring.

I'm pretty sure that I was supposed to be a farmer, but I got sidetracked. Love working outdoors. Like the sounds, the smells and the sweat. Digging in the dirt is something I've done since childhood, and I've grown vegetables every year for over 50 years, no matter where I've lived, even in rooftop containers in the city. There's great satisfaction in growing something from seed to table. We have a rustic garden (read>>messy) these days. I've added flowers now to please CW, but I do like the colors and blooms too. I'm amazed at all the insect life we have here now in the summer, besides the damned mosquitoes...lol. Most recent additions are two small ponds, one in the yard and one out front in the garden. Frogs appeared out of nowhere, and birds and squirrels sip and bathe daily until the ponds freeze over. A small fountain in the yard pond adds sound and attracts the wildlife. Hard work, but brings the good kind of tired. Vegetable garden: Salad fixin's: TW

Heard this joke while visiting grandparents in Utah years ago...
"Why do people lock their cars while attending church in the Spring?"

Planted 360° around the tree. The first Bloom of Summer is, of course... sunflower #1.
