European entrants- (last three Racing Post Ratings) ~ (owner-trainer):
Audarya (114-114-107) (Mrs. A . M. Swinburn/Fanshawe)- 4yo filly improved markedly when stretched out to 10F, winning the Prix Jean Romanet (GI) and then running a close third behind Tarnawa in the Prix de l'Opera (GI) on the Arc card. Handles soft/heavy ground. Contender if she handles the course and surroundings. Career turf record (9/3-3-1).
Cayenne Pepper (115-109-109) (Mrs. S. Kelly/Mrs. J. Harrington)- 3yo filly is lightly-raced and still improving. Started the season with a good second to Magical in the Pretty Polly S. (GI, 10F), then was second in the Irish Oaks (GI, 12F), second behind Tarnawa in a GIII at 12F, and most recently a much the best winner of the GII Blandford S. dropping back to 10F. Serious contender. Career turf record (8/4-3-0).
Peaceful (54-113-112) (Tabor, et. al./A. O'Brien)- Irish 1000 Guineas (GI) winner did no running last time in the Sun Chariot S. (GI, 1mi.) over heavy ground at Newmarket. Connections said 3yo filly needs firmer ground for her best. Distance should suit daughter of Galileo, as she just missed against stablemate Fancy Blue in the Prix de Diane (GI, 10.5F). Career turf record (7/2-2-1).
Terebellum (108-115-118) (Godolphin/Gosden)- Somewhat of a surprise entrant, as 4yo filly returned from a July break with a dull fifth in the Sun Chariot S. (GI, 1mi.) last time. May have needed the race, and Gosden is not afraid to use a Group I to prep for the next Group I. Stretchout should suit as she has three wins at 10F. Showed her class when just a neck off of Circus Maximus in the Queen Anne S. (GI, 1mi.) at Royal Ascot, three lengths clear of third. Interesting to see if Frankie Dettori takes the mount. Big chance. Career turf record (8/3-1-2).
North American entrants-
Mean Mary (4-1) runs freely and should go to the front, with Rushing Fall keeping close tabs on her. Ran her eyeballs out in the Diana S. (GI) and was just caught late. I think she'll handle this distance just a bit better than her rival. Speed is always dangerous.
Winning chance: Cayenne Pepper, Peaceful, Terebellum, Mean Mary.
Will use underneath: Audarya, Civil Union, Rushing Fall.
