How long before he's in Japan? Or Turkey? Might be premature. But. 94 2yo's,his 24 starters have made 40 starts with 2 wins, one at Indiana Grand and one at Mountaineer. 23rd on freshman sire list. Ugly early results.

They've certainly advertised him to death. Waiting for the "Runhappy $5000 n2L" claimer at Finger Lakes to show up one day. Heck, it might even have some of his offspring in the race. :-D

I think the bonus may have backfired a little. they offered an extra $100k for a MSW win at Kentucky Downs, Saratoga or Delmar. So all of the runhappys were in MSW, even though most were way over matched. Things should normalize a bit and those horse start dropping into MCL when appropriate the % will get better.

Why hasn't Claiborne set a fee for Runhappy in 2021. Every other stallion on their roster has an announcement. Curious.

Does Claiborne own him outright? I was thinking McIngvale still owned and Claiborne was just standing him as a service. If that's the case, it's a different group making the call on the fee for next year.
O/U @ 17,500 - which way would you go?

Today I wouldn't pay $5,000.
From last fall,Paulick Report
So far, the marketing hasn’t directly put any money back into McIngvale’s pocket, as he is not selling any Runhappys at the sales. He says he owns about 75% of the stallion, who stands at Claiborne. Clearly, a rise in his stud fee would be a positive for McIngvale, but he said he would leave that decision up to Claiborne’s Bernie Sams and Walker Hancock. “It’s up to Bernie and the people at Claiborne,” he said. “They are the experts in that field. Let’s face it, they have been at this for 130 years, so I will defer to their judgment. The whole idea is to keep Runhappy a hot stallion where he is a great commodity and a great value for the customers.

Any other stallion and he'd be dropping to 8-10,000 IMO. they put some much into the marketing they probably list him at $20k, but give some big discounts for breed backs or any kind of decent mare.

Now that I've put the jinx on him he'll probably have 5 colts on the Ky Derby trail next year!

Eclipse Champion Sprinter Runhappy will stand for $10,000 LFSN in 2021, Claiborne Farm announced Nov. 16. From 34 starters, 19 (56%) have finished in the money, with 5 maiden winners, 9 seconds, and 5 thirds.

Happy American breaks his maiden in the $115k 1-1/4 MSW opening day of the CD spring meet today. sub 2:04 on the clock was not embarrassing.
Happy American is out of Queen of America (Quiet American) who also produced stakes winners Your Love, Economic Model, Well Monied, & Jimmy Simms.
Looking like the Runhappy first crop needed some time/distance.

I think many expected them to be fast, precocious, early sprint types but seeing many taking a bit longer to develop and might turn out to be 2 turn types. If I remember correctly Runhappy was a bigger horse, didn't really develop until late in his 3YO year and had a bit of trouble staying sound so makes sense.
