Good Magic ran evenly and wasn't asked for much in the FOY today, does he figure to be tighter and move forward in his next race[Florida Derby?]?

Jockey did a great job getting Promises out and around and forwardly placed. Race was not very fast and yet not one horse could run by him. Pretty much not very interested in any horse out of this race at the moment.

The Fla Derby will tell us if Baffert wasn't really serious about this race considering the 3-month layoff. This was a million dollar purchase for Stonerside and E-Five and I doubt neither they or Mr. Baffert have given up on him after a 3rd place finish.

An historical fact that relates to Good Magic…...over the last 50 yrs, of the 17 2 yr champions who have lost their 3yr old debut, NONE have won the Kentucky Derby….need to go back to 1956 to find one that did……..(Vance Hanson)

Good Magic didn't have to be gutted for points yesterday Looked like a useful prep where he was wide on both turns giving weight to the winner and got something out of it.
Think they're still in good shape with him moving forward for the Bluegrass in five weeks.

the time of the race was a prep time and will allow good magic to prime condition for a 1:41 time aprox, with the fractions, before the k.d. and then we will see what he can do in the preakness and belmont, condition wise, as 'i' do think there will be THREE different winners this year...too many out standing horses this year...

Looks like one should be about due. Using that single factum to eliminate a contender would we folly in my m-o-p, and I'm not sating Eye is predicting Magic will lose or has no chance.. I remember when picking a horse with a DI over 4.0 to win the Derby was the kiss of death until a horse named Real Quiet showed up. The odds of actually picking a Derby winner at this point in the road would be 98% luck.
