Lots of interesting similarities between KG and one of my all time favorites, Monarchos. www.pedigreequery.com/monarchoswww.pedigreequery.com/king+guillermoBoth Dam’s were sired by Dixieland Band, and both had stamina laden pedigrees KG from the Caro sure line. Monarchos’ sires dam Carlota Maria was by Caro. Seems like a nice blend of speed and stamina.

Paulick Report. Can't be good.
King Guillermo, 20-1 on the morning line for this year's Kentucky Derby, has encountered an unspecified issue and did not go to the track Thursday morning as scheduled. Trainer Juan Carlos Ávila declined to elaborate further to National Turfwriters and Broadcasters Association pool reporter Greg Hall, except to say there was “a little problem.”
