Finally have the post position draw in and ready to run despite being the First Saturday in September but as Travis Stone just reminded everyone, “Roses are still red in September.” Love that line...
Tiz The Law pegged at 3/5 on the morning line is a surprise to me it just heard he would have been 4/5 before the defection of Art Collector so Battaglia didn’t change things too much. I see a few horses taking money including King Guillermo, Major Fed, and NY Traffic all at 20-1 or higher so I’d say Tiz is more Even or 6/5 at post time.
Thoughts?

I have a photo of the post with the ML odds but can’t figure out how to add here, sorry.... Some early thoughts: I would think Authentic has to go from the outside even more so now. Not too thrilled with the draw of Honor A.P. who doesn’t have an abundance of speed, more of a stalker, and could get a very wide trip. Not what I wanted from the horse I was looking to select as my pick. Heard Assmussen say he wanted an outside draw for Max Player and can’t imagine he is thrilled drawing the #2. ![]() South Bend an eleventh hour entrant this morning but certainly an atypical Derby field in a most atypical year. |

Here's my gut feeling... I've been thinkin' this all year. BB has been sandbaggin' with TW. My play on Saturday! Expecting a monster performance - gonna need it to beat TTL.

Ozzy---What do you think of the new gate for the KD? Richard - sorry just responding. I have not seen the new gate yet but I think it will help the field. The 1 is basically the 3 now so the scrum should not be as bad inside. The gap between 14 and 15 aux hole had caused issues in recent past so that’s gone. But packed tighter so trouble at the start could be real trouble. |
