Am in Dubai right now and they really like the local filly Rayya for the Kentucky Oaks. The trainer Doug Watson is from Ohio so this would be a bid deal for him. She is byTiz Wonderful so that would also be a huge boost for the sire. They love their racing over here as you can see by the coverage in the Gulf News

:26:23 for the opening quarter and 1:59:66 for the (approximately) mile and 3/16ths. That :26:23 seems pretty slow but the 1:59:23 seems pretty quick when considering Cal Chrome's time of 2.01:83 at a mile and a quarter over the same track - assuming my math is correct. The UAE Oaks is 1900 meters and that's about 2075 yards. That relates to about 1&3/16ths. Slow early- - fast late ? Shades of Princess of Sylmar?
If my numbers are off or this track is just that much slower than what we're use to over here please enlighten me!
