He said the "quiet part" loud. Good. Bye. ...but ...but ...but, it's his heritage, right?

Welcome to Adolph Rupp’s Lexington. Don’t care for what he said, however the man can think and speak however he chooses in my world. I heard as bad or worse throughout the protests, rioting and looting—+ the actions were similar.
The tone towards many here in this forum is often similar and self-justified by ego and self-righteous mob thinking.
I don’t think like mr.van Meter. If you treat everyone as important(particularly those intimidated by their disadvantages), you can get by this type of thinking.
Hypocrites bother me much more.....

Pleased to say I was able to do an extensive family history going back over 300 years and the Hendry’s were a pretty ordinary lot. Fishermen ,boatbuilders and homemakers - no one got a statue although the family did fight in two World Wars and my grandfather’s fishing boat almost got sunk by a German U Boat which would have been the end of me. The Younts on the other hand were a lot more famous 😜 www.houseofnames.com/yount-family-crest

unfortunately it is in all of us to some degree, tc.... This place was silent throughout the protests, looting and destruction, when the poison rhetoric towards law enforcement and countless others was far more threatening and disturbing. This good ole Ky cracker says what has been spoken for decades(though incredibly racist and demeaning--very disappointing in today's world).
Soo---cry cry if it makes you feel better--write it all down in a tear stained letter......

Might have been slightly more than just a bad day.
Tom VanMeter’s son, Griffin, addressed the comments on his Facebook page late Monday.
“Today my Dad wrote racist comments on a racist post on Facebook. Luckily for him he got called out for it as he should have. I’m glad that it was public because his racism is a conversation I wanted to have with him for over 20 years but never had the courage to start. I am sorry to both of us and all of us for that. I care deeply about my dad, and also care deeply about fighting racism,” Griffin VanMeter said. “As white people, especially overly privileged white people, we must do our part to change oppressive individuals and systems. Luckily, my Dad will have that opportunity and I will do my part to support him on his anti-racism journey.”

Dad should be very proud of his son.
