Riding Uncle Chuck for Baffert in the Los Alamitos Derby. I guess Cuomo’s 14 day quarantine doesn’t not apply to jockeys coming back from California !

Thanks Bev, I was wondering about why he would leave NY with the quarantine on.

Possible loophole?
The requirements of the travel advisory do not apply to any individual passing through designated states for a limited duration (i.e., less than 24 hours) through the course of travel.

Los Alamitos Derby (Grade III)One And One Eighth Miles. 1 Cosmo (KY) - Cedillo/Drysdale 2 Great Power (KY) - Van Dyke/Callaghan 3 Thousand Words (FL) - Prat/Baffert 4 Uncle Chuck (KY) - Saez/Baffert 5 Anneau d'Or (KY) - Espinoza/Wright
That's a long way to travel to finish third. Thousand Words is Improbable for Baffert. Rooting for the Wright runner... futures on 3&5.

Oops..
Jockey Luis Saez was abruptly removed from mounts early on Friday's race card at Keeneland after he was notified he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus, according to the Daily Racing Form's Matt Hegarty. Saez remains asymptomatic for COVID-19, and was tested Thursday morning as part of routine monitoring for jockeys competing at the track. He will now be required to enter a minimum 10-day quarantine period, which means he will be unable to ride Maximum Security in his anticipated summer debut in the Grade 2 San Diego Handicap next weekend.

Huh? As I was playing Keeneland yesterday I heard he was off his mounts. Had no idea that was the reason. Hope it doesn’t spread through the jocks room.

Victor Espinoza and Martin Garcia, as well. Could be an issue if Garcia got it from Saez, or vice versa.

According to the Paulick report, Flavien Prat tested positive for COVID -19 after riding at Keeneland on Saturday and was taken off his mounts at Delmar on Sunday.
