Going now listed as Soft.
Ascot 8:15- 1m2f Golden Gates Handicap (Class 2) (3yo 0-105)
I need to get one of these right in order to turn the franchise around. #1- Highland Chief (12-1) was third to Pinatubo in the Chesham here last season, then disappeared until a well-beaten sixth in the Royal Lodge (GII) in September. Could be this good if healthy and fit. #4- Hypothetical (5-1) was fourth going 10F on the AW in comeback race that had Berlin Tango and Pyledriver finish one-two. Gosden/Dettori handle this expensive son of Lope de Vega.
EX- 1,4/1,2,4,6,8,15
Ascot 8:50- 1m2f Wolferton Stakes (Listed Race) (Class 1) (4yo+)
Listed race with a Group II field. #5- Dream Castle (15-1) son of Frankel is a GI winner in Dubai, ran close to Crystal Ocean and Elarqam in GB last season. Good foundation with four Dubai races this winter. #8- Fox Tal (5-2) lightly-raced son of Sea the Stars only had two races as a 3yo in the fall but finished a close fourth to Magical and Addeybb in a GI at today's distance. #12- Regal Reality (4-1) had a fine body of work in 2019, winning a GIII and close-up to Enable, Elarqam and Japan. Stoute gets the hot Crowley to ride. #13- Sir Dragonet (4-1) couldn't find the winner's enclosure subsequent to winning the Chester Vase (GIII) in May but clearly had physical issues later in the season. Got in a 10F turf race in March before lockdown, so should be fit at least. #6,9,10 can all be used as well.

Rain coming down at a good pace, as it has been doing for a while. Should be soft going, and don’t be surprised if Stradivarius and a few others scratch out....

Ascot 9:25- 7f Jersey Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (3yo)
Wide open race. Soft ground would appear to help a few and discourage others. #2- Celestin (8-1) handled soft to heavy ground in all his starts, and was a close fourth to Victor Ludorum in the French Guineas on June 1st. #4- King Leonidas (7-2) gets his class test today. Undefeated in two starts, including a debut win over soft ground at Newmarket last fall. Gosden/Dettori for Sheikh Hamdan.
EX- 2,4/2,4,6,8,9,10,15
Ascot 10:00- 7f Chesham Stakes (Listed Race) (Class 1) (2yo)
Crapshoot even before the addition of rain. Try to find some value avoiding the favorites.
EX- 4,5/2,4,5,7
Ascot 10:35- 2m4fGold Cup (Group 1) (British Champions Series) (Class 1) (4yo+)
THE Gold Cup. THE Ohio State University. Will not try to beat Stradivarius here, but Technician may move up over the testing ground, so have to include that possibility.
EX- 4,8/1,4,6,8

Good exacta Spider! Surprised at how much money the 10 took. Went off as the fourth choice.

Went from hopeless at the break to a clear lead past the furlong pole to nipped at the wire
Place and exacta are some consolation as that runner was my largest play of the meet so far
And used the bomb #13 in my exactas—had a nice tri in that box Decent day so far however missed a big chance in the 3rd
Next!

Ascot 11:10- 1m (Str) Britannia Stakes (Heritage Handicap) (Colts & Geldings) (Class 2) (3yo 0-105)
Five horse box, with #22- Finest Sound (7-1) looking strong for today's conditions.
EXBOX- 1,4,6,13,22
Ascot 11:40- 1m (Str) Sandringham Stakes (Handicap) (Fillies) (Class 2) (3yo 0-105)
#2- Night Colours (20-1) looks like a sneaky entry at a big price. #6- Soffika (6-1) is GIII-placed as a 2yo. Gets several questions asked today (ground, distance, fitness) but she may have the answers. Ryan Moore takes the call.
EXBOX- 2,6,9,11

Too close all day to end up slightly down for the third consecutive day Next two days might feature the best racing So let’s get it done!
