Ascot 8:15- 1m (Str) Silver Royal Hunt Cup Handicap (A Consolation Race For The Royal Hunt Cup) (Class 2) (3yo+)
#4- Brian Epstein (8-1) progressed nicely as a 3yo, winning smartly at Musselburgh going 7F on soft ground before heading to the sidelines. Good looking return race at Haydock Park seven days ago, closing strongly from mid-pack. #14- Salayel (12-1) started on dirt for her first four starts, arrived at Newmarket last July and ran a bang-up second going 7F. Right there in three subsequent tries, including a long-neck behind Agincourt and runner-up to Nazeef, who ran one-two in the GII Duke of Cambridge on Tuesday. A bit more needed against open company but not without a chance. #15- Ouzo (5-1) like Brian Epstein trained by Richard Hannon, gets a return ride by Ryan Moore after getting necked by Bell Rock last week at Newmarket. Ran off three wins in a row against lesser foes last June, then returned with a close-up fourth going a mile over soft ground. Steps up again today but should give a good account. #17- Maydanny (10-1) was very impressive on return thumping nine foes going a mile. A win and two seconds in three tries so may have a lot more to offer.
EXBOX- 4,14,15,17
Ascot 8:50- 1m2f Hampton Court Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (3yo)
#1- Berlin Tango (5-1) won a GIII AW at 10F on his return at Kempton Park beating Pyledriver, who upset the field in the GII King Edward VII going the Derby distance (12F). He has no such aspirations however, finding a cozy spot for his next step, and Oisin Murphy isn't letting him out of his sight. #3- First Receiver (3-1) could not have been more impressive on return, recording a seven length blowout at one mile on the Kempton Park AW course to break his maiden in style. Sir Michael reaches out to Frankie, and it would be nice to see The Queen's colors passing the line first. #4- Juan Elcano (2-1) is twice GII-placed and returned with a close fifth to Kameko in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket. Quick turn-around and stretch out for this son of Frankel but feel we haven't seen near the best of him yet. #8- Russian Emperor (4-1) broke his maiden in March at Naas going a mile over soft ground. Son of Galileo stretches out for O'Brien/Moore team and must be respected.
EX- 3,4/1,3,4,8
Ascot 9:25- 1m4f King George V Stakes (Handicap) (Class 2) (3yo 0-105)
Eighteen horse head-scratcher with nearly all trying 12F for the first time. Whittled the field down to five for an exacta pw.
EX- 1,4/1,4,5,10,13
Ascot 10:00- 1m2f Prince Of Wales's Stakes (Group 1) (British Champions Series) (Class 1) (4yo+)
Feature race of the day for 4yo+ going 10F. I tried but can't beat #5- Japan (4-5). His credentials are impeccable, took the Juddmonte (GI) from Crystal Ocean at York in August and capped off his 3yo season with a fine fourth in the Arc.
EX- 5/1,4,6
More to follow...

Ascot 10:35- 1m (Str) Royal Hunt Cup (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2) (3yo+)
#17 has been scratched. #6- Lord Tennyson (8-1) did not race at two or three. Nice win on AW debut followed by a good second to Marie's Diamond, which was a surprising third in the opening day Queen Anne (GI). Another Godolphin with potential for Gosden/Dettori. #8- Qaysar (15-1) bounced around Class 2 & 3 handicaps last year with good results. Closed from off the pace to finish a close-up third going 7F at Newmarket last week, should be sitting on a good race stretching out today, handles all types of ground.
EX- 6,8/6,8,11,13,14,22
Ascot 11:10- 5f Windsor Castle Stakes (Listed Race) (Class 1) (2yo)
Field of nineteen 2yos banging heads, with two from Wesley Ward signed on. #2- Chief Little Hawk (6-1) looked sharp winning at Naas a week ago. #8- Mighty Gurka (8-1) was impressive over the AW at Lingfield going 6F. #4- Fools Rush In (20-1) dwelt at the start, rushed up to second and only beaten a length in third on AW debut. Could make amends at a price with a better start.
EXBOX- 2,4,8 PL- 4
Ascot 11:40- 1m6f Copper Horse Handicap (Class 2) (4yo+ 0-105)
4yo+ going 1 3/4mi. Keeping this one simple. #1- Collide is the highweight for Palmer/Moore. Son of Frankel has won both 2020 starts, picks up the weight but is in top form. #3- Alright Sunshine (8-1) ran very well at the end of last season. Not embarassed on AW return finishing mid-pack behind top-class Nayef Road in a GIII. Will find this spot more suitable. Big chance.
EX- 1,3/1,3,6,7,11,14
Good luck if you play today!

Hoping Her Majesty The Queen wins the second race with her home bred First Receiver. Interesting to see how Addeybb does on his return from a very successful trip to Australia.

Blew the 1st shotgun exacta box
On to the Keying #1 BERLIN TANGO over 3-4-8/all, hoping to fall in to something halfway meaningful. #4 JUAN ELCANO is the only runner that seriously is a concern, though Her Majesty’s #3 with Frankie Up is obviously well-meant. As Bev mentioned......

My horse won the far side race. Draw is a huge factor in these large field zero turn races 😜

No real surprises there—especially the part where I lost my $$$
Trying a shotgun exacta box in the 3rd since I obviously have no idea who is going to run well.... 3-4-8-15-16
Good luck!

not even close at any stage of the race.... Last time I watched JAPAN run, he didn't hit the board. Don't usually play horses coming from distant continents, however I need to beat a favorite. I like ADDEYBB as the best chance, though this race has all A list runners imo. Even Bankok ran well here last year in a typical O'Brien/O'Brien finish.
not much chatter--everyone losing?

So far I'm pitching a shutout. No issues understanding the first three winners, although you had to have faith that pedigree would take Hukum there. How good a meet is jockey Crowley having so far? Lord North is a fine animal, but didn't see that effort coming. Should have paid more attention to his comeback race, where he beat Elarqam, Telecaster and Sangarius going 10F. With only eight starts, he had every right to continue improving.
