I was just reading Boz Burrel's career. Probably better known for Bad Company, he was King Crimson's Lead vocalist and needing a bass player Fripp taught him bass in about 2 weeks. The rest is history.
Boz was also almost The Who's lead singer when they were on the verge of firing Daltry too
