Unfortunately is one of the “can’t do” states—can’t control black on black violence(18+ murders over the weekend in Chicago), can’t fund pensions, can’t control debt—and now can’t help an already struggling racing program survive.
Always enjoyed my visits to Arlington Park and downtown Chicago .”, even trips to the Mud Bug simul facility. Artificial racing and change of my personal flow ended that. A long history of class racing and at one time a state of the art facility pretty much down the tubes.
Also aporeciated my time with Scott McManus, Dave Feldman etc.

And I can't leave out the blues bars in the Halsted area--Kingston Mines, Legends, B.L.U.E.S, and the one down the street(other side) from Kingston Mines where I visited the most. Buddy Guy, Son Seals, Willie Kent and the Gents, Hound Dog Taylor....and the bars stayed open until 4am (central time)--some rough mornings headed to AP

Cliff notes version. After a million years IL approved a Casino at Arlington (owned by CDI), but CDI chose not to apply for the license, which caught everyone off guard. CDI says the laws around the license (taxes, fees, purse subsidies) and number of other casinos in the area now make it unsustainable. IL is now trying to do anything (pulling race dates) they can to push CDI out of Arlington Park.

Hooper, Sorry missed your question here. I would have guessed they wanted out of IL, and would sell to an operator or developer, but obviously no one is buying during a pandemic... Looks like they made a 2 year agreement today to run. Meet will start 7/23 and run Thru/Fri/Sat.
