Newmarket 8:50 (EDT)- 6f (Row) Handicap (Class 2) (4yo+) (0-105) 1 has been withdrawn. #3- Dazzling Dan (7-2) has an admirable record (9/3-3-1) at 6F turf, as well as here at Newmarket (4/2-1-1). He should be prominent throughout. Underneath- #2- Gulliver (8-1) three starts this year including a trip to Qatar should have him in top fitness. #5- Summerghand (10-1) spend the early season in Dubai running against better foes, should appreciate return to Newmarket where it has not missed the exacta in three tries. #7- Open Wide (10-1) has been second or third in half his 32 career turf starts, finished a close-up third to Swindler at Ascot. #9- Swindler (4-1) has done little wrong in six tries, lightly-raced 4yo can continue his progression this term.
EX- 3/2,5,7,9 Result: 6,5,11 The parade of longshots continues at Newmarket as Tinto ($94.80) storms home as the longest shot in the field by far. Favorites did absolutely no running when it counted.
Newmarket 9:25- 6f (Row) Abernant Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (3yo+) #1- Brando (7-5) is the class of the field and a two-time winner of this race. Ran well in all the GI sprints in the second half of last season, taken to return running. #5- Keystroke (6-1) was able to deny Brando a three-peat in this last year with a late rush at the wire. Has run okay without winning since that effort. #6- Mr. Lupton (7-1) hearing lots of chatter about this one. He fires when fresh and can run with these types on his best day.
EX- 1/5,6 Result: 7,2,3 Closers could make no impression as Oxted ($7.60) verified the form he showed at the end of last year; he's one to keep an eye on in the sprint division.
Newmarket 10:00- 1m (Row) Paradise Stakes (Listed Race) (Class 1) (3yo+) 2,11 have been withdrawn. The two scratches, especially favored Sangarius, have changed the outlook on this one considerably. #4- Escobar (8-1) beat a field of twenty in the Balmoral H. at Ascot when last seen. He fits nicely at this level and may drift up in the betting. #7- Momkin (12-1) is tough to back for the win but sports solid career form and just missed in the Craven S. here last term. Not sure if #12- Vale of Kent is up to a testing mile here, but he has the ability and the price will be right.
EXBOX- 4,7,12 Result: 6,5,12 Marie's Diamond ($32.00) led them all on a merry chase. Quality speed is doing well today.

Newmarket 10:35- 1m4f (Row) Coronation Cup Stakes (Group 1) (Class 1) (4yo+) All eyes are on #6- Ghaiyyath (3-2) the Godolphin frontrunner coming into this off an eight-length tour-de-force in a GIII at Meydan. It is a step up in trip, but he has won going 12F before and his style should allow him to relax on the lead unless a challenger arises early. #2- Anthony Van Dyck (6-1) won last year's Epsom Derby, and ran very well without winning the rest of the year. Hard to see him beating all of the top three today. #4- Defoe (3-1) is the defending champion. Ran a close second in GII at Meydan in March, can run with these at his best. #7- Stradivarius (7-2) champion stayer drops back to 12F for the first time in three years. Trainer Gosden has publicly stated that this is a prep for the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot in two weeks, so an all-out effort may not be in the cards. Still, he's the other likely early-pace horse in here, so it will be interesting to see what Frankie Dettori does if he finds himself in contention heading for home.
PASS But should be a great race to watch. {edit: 3mtp Defoe is 7-1. I'll take some of that} Result: 6,2,7 Ghaiyyath ($3.80) never had an anxious moment, set off to a six length lead and never came back to them. Anthony Van Dyck ran well in defeat and should be watched moving forward. Stradivarius prepped as expected. Defoe did the dirty work chasing in second but tired badly to finish fifth.
Newmarket 11:10- 1m4f (Row) Handicap (Class 3) (4yo+) (0-90) Wide-open handicap at 12F for older. I'll try two of the lightly-raced 4yos on top. #2- Look Closely (3-1) progressed smartly over the second half of last year, looking for further improvement today. #12- Edinburgh Castle (7-1) has shown ability in all three starts, trainer Balding's yard is sending out winners right now.
EX- 2,12/1,2,4,6,12 Result: 6,4,8 Holy Kingdom ($10.60) reaffirmed his fondness for Newmarket and his improvement last fall with a facile win.
Newmarket 12:55- 6f (Row) Handicap (Div I) (Class 3) (4yo+) (0-95) 11 has been withdrawn. Highly competitive sprint so tread lightly here, I'll try #3- Golden Apollo (6-1) and hope he drifts up in the betting.
WIN- 3 Late Scratch.
Newmarket 1:30- 6f (Row) Handicap (Div II) (Class 3) (4yo+) (0-95) 7,11 have been withdrawn. I had planned on keying the #7 who scratched, so the best thing to do would be an El Paso. But after working for a while on the handicapping, I'll make a small play.
Ex- 2,4/2,4,5,9,10 Result: 4,6,10 Highland Dress ($6.40) figured to improve with two March AW sprints under his belt. Interesting to see if they stretch him out to 7F next time, he has a bit of promise. Couldn't come up with second place Beyond Equal, which took a lot of money off the morning line and was clearly live.
Good luck if you play!

Thanx a bunch for the handicapping and reporting the results... A quality group of runners that we should hear about again in 2 weeks. Long layoffs for most, with prime time racing next in line.
Definitely a couple of days for me to not wager.....
Good luck 10f——save some $$ for Royal Ascot!!

Sure thing spider! I made a nice profit on Wednesday and now am slowly feeding the fish...lol. With many coming in after long breaks it is certainly "gambling" with many of these horses. As expected, those who made AW starts in Feb. and Mar. are running to par for the most part.
Tomorrow is the 2000 Guineas, with a field of 15 scheduled to contest the mile. Pinatubo ( www.racingpost.com/profile/horse/2659940/pinatubo/form ) , the undefeated Shamardal colt returns as a newly minted 3yo for Godolphin and Charlie Appleby. A. O'Brien throws four up against him, and Qatar Racing's Kameko (by Kitten's Joy) is in with a good chance. I know you were high on Pinatubo last year too. I hope he can progress as a 3yo.
Edit: Race is at 10:35a.m. EDT tomorrow.
