Spent a bit of time researching this one.
#6 Guarana 3/5 ML - 98% of the time I pass when you see ML odds like this. When I noted Chad did not enter her in the BC after her stellar performances that year (Mdn win by 14, G1 Acorn by 6, CCAOaks win by 1 and Place in G1 Cotillion) I thought perhaps I should investigate further. Note that in the BRIS PPs it does not chow her ever taking the lead but if you watch the replay you'll note she takes the lead at the top of the stretch and holds it until the stretch call when Street band comes from way back to take the lead.
In the Acorn, Seregeti and Cookie Dough had a drag race out of the gate (:21-4/5 and :43-4/5) and that set Gurana up for that 6-length win.
In the Oaks there was no early speed ( :49-2/5 & 1:13-2/5) and it was a very short field so she only had to beat 4 horses. She won by 1-length. She didn't blow anybody away.
In the Cotillion there was a little help from the speed (:22-3/5 & :46-1/5) but she was in it too and this time it helped Street Band close the deal and won by 2-lengths.
For me the main question is why she didn't she run in the BC? Injury? If she needs help from the from early speed to run her best, and there isn't today, does there means we have a chance to beat her? Probably not but maybe Sonny Dale I like that name) or Lady Suebee will surprise us today.

Just watched the replay. Looked like she was under wraps the last sixteenth.
