Turf racing returns to England today at Yarmouth. It's a mad dash trying to get prep races for the Classics (3yos) and Royal Ascot (2yos & older horses), so much so that some former turf fixtures are being run on the AW tracks to give maximum opportunity for the connections. Kempton (AW) has the Classic Trial (GIII) at 1 1/4mi. for the boys, and the Listed Snowdrop S. for the fillies at a mile.
Yarmouth 12:45- 1m2f Handicap (Class 4) (3yo) (0-85) John Gosden-trained #3- Celestran (3-1) should progress nicely throughout the season, but don't take too low of a price in this evenly matched group with most following a long layoff. #8- Lady Lynetta (12-1) filly faces the boys today, with a nice win at Newmarket when last seen. Trainer is optimistic, and the price should be right. #11- Arthur's Court (20-1) gets Jamie Doyle back aboard, who rode him to his lone victory in six attempts. Two subsequent races against better resulted in well-beaten status, so we'll find out today where the future lies. #5- Naizagal (8-1) is the tip-horse, still a maiden despite three good efforts as a 2yo, including finishing ahead of Celestran at Newmarket going 7F. Trainer Varian does well at this course, so expect an underlaid price. #7- Group One Power (7-2) is undefeated in two starts, both this season on AW before the lockdown. Have to use based on recency.
EX- 3,5/3,5,7,8 PL- 8,11 Result: 3,1,10 Celestran ($5.80) ran to his billing. Exacta ($91.60) and triple ($788.40) were outsized with a 19-1 and 16-1 second and third.

Kempton Park 2:45- 1m2f Classic Trial Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (3yo) 4,9 are withdrawn. #2- Berlin Tango (15-1) had good form as a 2yo culminating in a close-up third in the Flying Scotsman last fall. Useful second-place finish in Conditions stakes over this course in March. Jockey Murphy bails out to ride at Yarmouth today, mixed signals. #3- Bright Melody (7-1) won at 10F AW on debut, Godolphin gelding has plenty of potential. #5- Hypothetical (4-1) won by five in only start as a 2yo. Expensive yearling has Gosden/Dettori/Sheikh Hamdan in his corner. #6- Max Vega (7-2) has two open-length wins from three starts including a GIII at today's distance of the Newmarket turf. #10- Born With Pride (2-1) is one of three fillies entered, won lone start in a Listed race debuting at Newmarket, that's not an easy task.
TRI- 5/2,3,6,10/2,3,6,10 Result: 2,7,3 Berlin Tango ($18.00) dominated his rivals, his recent start clearly gave him a boost.
Yarmouth 3:05- 7f Novice Stakes (Div I) (Class 5) (3yo) 7 is withdrawn. This race appears to be all about the three horses that have already won. #1- Angelic Time (10-1) expensive yearling won second start going this distance on AW. Probably needs to show improvement today, but not out of this. #2- Enemy (4-5) won on debut going 7F at Ascot. Gosden gets Murphy in town to ride him back. #3- Mister Snowdon (7-2) broke his maiden in a median auction race at 6F AW in March. Has recency on his side, but likely has lots more to find today. Of the rest, #4- Additional (8-1) is an interesting FTS for Meade who does well on debut. Danny Tudhope rides.
EX- 2/1,4 Result: 3,2,4 Mister Snowdon ($12.60) also benefited from a recent race. The exacta with the hot favorite underneath came back $43.40, that's crazy value!
Yarmouth 3:40- 7f Novice Stakes (Div II) (Class 5) (3yo) All eyes will be on #2- Higher Kingdom (4-5). Kingman colt won debut by four like a good one, has a 2000 Guineas entry pending. Not much to bet on here, but could be fun to watch.
PASS Result: Odds-on Higher Kingdom could do no better than fourth.

Kempton 3:55- 1m Snowdrop Fillies' Stakes (Listed Race) (Class 1) (3yo+) #1- Billesdon Brook (4-1) GI winner at Newmarket over Iridessa before finishing behind that one in BC FMTurf at SA. Two-for-two on AW, but will need her best on return. #3- Scentasia (7-2) cuts back to one mile, arguably her best distance. Two wins in four AW tries and her form peaked at the end of last season over that surface. Big chance. #4- Audarya (12-1) might be a touch below some of these but sports an admirable record (7/2-4-0) and should offer value. Trainer is keen on her chances. #9- Nazeef (5-2) is three-for-four lifetime, with a win going a mile over AW. Decimated three rivals when last seen at Newmarket, could be any kind. #11- Romola (12-1) has a (4/1-2-1) AW record, and hit peak form at the end of last term. Tries every time, do not ignore this one for Stoute/Ryan Moore.
EX- 1,3/1,3,4,9,11 Result: 9,1,12 Billesdon Brook ran a big race, taking the lead into the final furlong, but got headed by Nazeef ($8.40) nearing the wire.
Yarmouth 4:15- 1m Handicap (Class 4) (4yo+) (0-82) Looking for a bit of a price. #2- Balgair (15-1) likes a firm course, has run well locally and the distance suits.
WIN- 2 Result: 4,7,2 Balgair took a lot of money (5-1) and could only get a minor award.
Kempton 4:30- 1m Handicap (Class 4) (4yo+) (0-78) 1 has been withdrawn. Evenly matched bunch with no standout. Let's go with two trainer-touts, and two that like the local surface (including one for Bosch fans.) #2- Marshall Dan (10-1), #5- Earth and Sky (6-1), #7- Hieronymus (6-1) and #11- Purgatory (5-1).
EXBOX- 2,5,7,11 Result: 7,2,8 EX- $238.40 Bosch fans could be heard rejoicing around the land as Hieronymous (sire is: Dutch Art) ($25.00) led them on a merry chase to win by 4+ lengths. Marshall Dan (11-1) was a clear second, echoing his trainer's confidence.
