Not sure how he is training but I actually think the Belmont would have been a good fit.

How about Gronkowski? He was transferred to Chad Brown earlier this month, touch of speed and an appearance by Gronk at Belmont might get some pub. After his virus caused him to miss The Derby the owners were going to point to The Belmont,I’m assuming that plan is still in place but not sure. Gronkowski pedigree page from his Tattersalls breeze up sale as a 2yo,sold for more than $400,000. www.tattersalls.com/cat/breezeup/2017/138.pdfHooper

The Weld horse is an interesting development. Owned by Calumet Farm , could this be the rabbit for Bravazo !

Don't see it. Watched replays of the two mile and quarters on the turf. Laid off the lead in both. Think they will run him in the Irish Derby, makes more sense.

I would have loved to see Audible in the race, but this was pretty easy to predict. Too much money at stake--could you imagine the second guessing that would have occurred if Justify ran second to Audible?
I just hope we get a reasonably full starting gate, translating to decent odds on key contenders. If Justify wins, I'll happily salute another TC winner for BB. But I'll be playing against him, and will even have some tickets where he doesn't hit the board. Hoping, perhaps unrealistically, to get 8-1 or more on Hofburg and a bit higher on Vino Rossi.

Lose Audible but Noble Indy at least makes for an honest pace.
Pletcher always puts one of his Belmont horses up on the pace early. This one helps Vino Rosso.

There hasn't been anything like this before, has there? --arguably the second best horse is being held out to grease the TC skids for Justify. If he wins it, has it been cheapened? I would say yes. And I like Justify.

Hey Hoop,
I'm AGAINST Gronkowski on pure principle alone...Isn't there anyone else to support? LOL...

I’m guessing Madameblum would love to see Gronk in a Steeler uniform. Rumors abound that she has started a gofundme page for Le’Veon Bell who believes he is worth $17 million per season. I can picture her dancing to Mr Bell’s latest music release as she burns a Tom Brady jersey in her fire pit while watching Jerome Bettis highlights. All in good fun, Hooper

I sure wish this field would get firmed up. As for Gronk, toughest race in the TC series, ANY kind of interruption in their training, or injury, etc. is never good.

I watched both races, he was pretty much running in a "bog" both times. Heavy going. If he comes he will be "fit" that is for sure, carried 131 and 136 lbs. So he will get about a 10lb weight break. Horses who have run on surfaces other than dirt usually don't win the BEL, but Animal Kingdom broke that angle I think, didn't he?

I will probably use him in an exotic. Great breeding, but horse doesn't seem to like to win at anything over 1-1/16th, even though he has the most beautiful breeding for it....but really seems to have the wrong running style for this. I had my tickets peppered w/him in the Derby but was disappointed. He will take a lot of $$ and if he starts out at 8-1, I could not risk a win bet on him since the odds will probably go a bit lower on him.

a week out, I like Bandua, Bravazo, Tenfold and.... Free Drop Billy for the topmost spots.
I know nobody talks about this last one, but I think he has some good qualities that are not being noticed. FDB has never been out of the money except in the BC Juvie and the KY Derby (which I am not holding against ANY horse). In the Bluegrass he was making quite a bit of headway in the stretch when that horse drifted sharply over and really almost ran into him. I just have a feeling about this one that he may like 1-1/2.
Ditto for the ones above.
I will probably wager against Justify for the win here.
