Page 12 of the Eastern edition of todays' DRF suggests as much. What next, run at 9 furlongs? The way things are going I was hopeful the dust would settle in time for Saratoga and while we should be okay by then, only time will tell. Hooper, I assume we dont have a commitment on a condo yet for what we thought would be Travers week?

With no Derby and an Ascot trip aborted, if u end up with a bedroom available, I might come up if u will have me
Just a possibility.......
Wondering if Belmont is compromised also, which kills another annual trip

LL, are they talking about moving it up to earlier in the meet? No need to change the distance, IMO. After all, even if run first weekend of August it’s several months later in the season than the Derby is typically run.

You are on the list spider. Can guarantee a room right now for 1 case of toilet paper! We might need a bigger house but there are plenty of those available every year. Hope everything plays out favorably for the country over the next month.

I'd just as soon see them keep the Travers date as it is and the Saratoga meet untouched. Of course that assumes improve between now and July/August. I fail to see where the Kentucky Derby has much relevance this year with it moved to September. It becomes "another" race, sure, a Grade I but not with the same weight as the Derby on the first Saturday in May.
Fwiw...

Gam, they would be moving it to earlier in August so any runners interested in contesting both the Travers and September 5th KD would have sufficient weeks between the 2 races.

LL Which is what I predicted in the Ky Derby thread. Fingers crossed that things will be more or less back to “normal” by then.
