I don't know about you folks but this,to me,sets the stage for a great opportunity.OK ,so here's the deal.I will never bet a horse with a foot thing,any foot thing no matter how small or insignificant ,especially at odds on.That's Doc's Rule#1.
OK I'll give you that AP had a pad on while he was winning the triple crown.I never bet a dollar on him,for that reason.I have to play by the (my) rules.If you ask me Justify has everything stacked against him.So much in a short time,travel,and the off tracks as we see can take their toll.I see a lot of things that can go wrong.I was looking over the charts and watched and played(to my chagrin)some races and inside speed was not a bad thing.I'm glad Shoe's asked about Quip in a previous thread.He pointed to his LP figures on the BRIS pps.As I pointed out,Justify was coming into the KD with the best LP/Last Race figure.His KD number is not as sharp.I know,there's more to it than that.Quip has a strong sprinters pedigree on the dam side so the distance will be stretched.Mud breeding up and down gives him a punchers chance and a poor break by any other......

Doc,as for Quip, well may the luck of the Irish be with you (your Irish right? ) Like you Justify may win, but I'm going to take the contrarian view here. Will look to gamble. Good Magic on top in tri (not using Justify in either second or third)(that's the gamble part)....

Eye the only way to play the race is tossing one of the ML favorites.

I'll toss Good Magic since I think he's way more vulnerable here than Justify.
Baffert does this two week Derby/Preakness turnaround in his sleep-Chad not so much.
Good Magic was trained the last three months to peak on Derby Day so now what?

As for Justify cycling out I'll take a shot it comes three weeks from today.

Quip 7-2 in the early betting no thanks.
He could run in the Sir Barton and I wouldn't like him on top.

Justify over some combination of Lone Sailor,Diamond King(ridden to get a check not engage Justify),Tenfold and Bravazo.

I always look for Fappiano/Gana Facil in Preakness pedigree...broodmare sire of Dr. Fager, Aspidistra and also look at War Admiral further back. A few years ago I started thru the pedigrees of Preakness runners and these influences in a very high % of the winners. Cloud Computing, Shackleford, et. al.  He will figure prominently in my wagers.

Spanky , the Cooler effect only applies if you bet so glad to say it is undiminished after Justify’s victory. A lot closer than I thought it would be but the Triple Crown Dream is still alive
