Larry Walker? HOF? Even TC,The Macs and bpiets know he doesn't belong.
The Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA) Hall of Fame ballot of 2020 represents Larry Walker’s 10th and final year of eligibility. Before 2018, he had never pulled above 23% in the vote, bottoming out at 10.2% in 2014, when 18 players received more than his 58 votes. However, a cause has developed around him. His voting percentage surged to 34% in 2018 and then 55% this past January(2019)

He was such an awesome combination of speed power average fielding and throwing. Use to watch him come to the vet in philly and trick players by camping underneath a ball that was actually way over his head....only to play it off a wall and keep a hesitant running from advancing. Then when HE got on base, which was seemingly all the time, he always found a way to move 90 feet past where he should be. Plus those cartoonish numbers in the 90s at Coors field will look good on his plaque.

Not sure. He probably belongs but is a borderline inductee. Likely that there are members already in the HOF less deserving than Larry Walker. I remember him as an expo. I think he is only the 2nd Canadian born player in the HOF...anybody know the first? No cheating. I think I know but am uncertain. If it is the player I'm thinking...he was a pitcher. Is it spring training yet? Btw, when will somebody start a campaign for me to be inducted in the handicapping HOF? I think this may be my year!

Like them or not, IMO, it’s a travesty they won’t put either Bonds or Clemens in.

I'm in the middle on Walker. Haven't looked at his home/road splits but Colorado was such a massive hitter's park, that it likely significantly inflated his batting stats a fair amount.

I get the argument that Bonds was clearly on a HOF path before HGH, but he and Mcguire and Sosa distorted HR stats in a way that can never be corrected. In Bond's case, his hat size went up 3 full sizes, which is kind of amazing. Clemens claimed he got the steroids for his wife, haha. He looked to be in a precipitous performance decline, then all of a sudden, he was better than ever. They both made additional millions for using, and would probably do it all over again, even if they knew it kept them from the Hall. That said I think they both get in in two years, in their final year of eligibility before veteran's committee consideration kicks in.
