I'm rollin' with the Washington Redskins +5' tonight. Leaning to under 41. What an ugly game to subject America to on MNF. Unless you're a Skins or Bears fan. Off the top of you're head, can you recall the starting backfields for these two teams?

I watched, maybe, 3 minutes of pro football last year, total. I hate it.
Tonight, I am watching a movie. The phone rings, I turn the channel so I wouldn’t miss my recorded movie after the phone call. Of course, it goes to the last channel I previously had it on, ESPN and it is the Monday Night Game.
I’m talking on the phone and the game has stopped for an injured lineman. They show a fumble recovery by the Bears defense. But wait, on the other end of the field, far away from the play, a penalty is called on #20 of the Bears for touching the helmet of the wide receiver as he fakes the defender out of his jock and becomes wide open.
The penalty negates a good defensive play on the Quarterback. This is exactly why I do not watch football. It truly is a JOKE. That penalty had absolutely nothing to do with the play.
The NFL is such a joke. I can’t understand why people enjoy watching it.
To each, his own, I guess.

Sadly, I have to agree with you Quick. Just imagine how it feels when you bet on the games and calls beat you. It does go both ways but still...yet, the NFL dwarfs all other sports in the USA as far as popularity...

I agree that officiating in all sports is concerning....I believe that's a product of the replay review...when you see something at super-slow-mo over & over rather than at real time speed everyone's a judge....btw I pretty, pretty, pretty sure that the officials didn't have much sway in the Bears beating a really bad football team...just sayin' b.d.

Replay has reduced my watching of all major sports by at least 75% in the last decade. Hooper

I totally agree Daddio! The Redskins suck. They are going to lose a lot of football games this year. Go ahead and pencil the Cowboys in to win the East. NY Giants are horrible. Philly is a team with so many injured players they'll be lucky to go 8-8. As far as the calls go, the NFL better get a handle on this situation. Do the zebras need to be trained better? Maybe take a few cameras out (the end zone cam?) Zooming in on weather the ball actually touches the ground on nearly every close catch gets ridicules. The flow of the game is affected. I don't know the answers but clearly the Commish needs to get involved imo. AND...on top of all that...we have a man named Booger calling the game! Jeeezzz Louise...

On the replay subject, it was very ironic to be at the Little League world series, and hear the LL pledge before each game, "I will respect the decisions of the umpires." then have multiple challenge and replay reviews...

I must admit I've never been aware of the LL pledge, but it makes sense. I can see the irony. Plans to attend next year Elk? I watched the original Bad News Bears the other day. What a great show!

starting backfield? Will Zeke be better long term than AP?
A zillion replay camera angles puts a lot of heat on officiating...leading to a lot of no-calls or calls that they expect the replay to sort it out. Still we want the right call, don’t we? Gabriel’s amazing td catch last night being one of them.

To early to make a call on Zeke vs. AP. Avoiding injuries is always a factor when comparing RB's. That said, I think that the money star players are making plus the ever mounting proof of concussions will shorten players careers. I'd like to see something between the rules of replay now and maybe 10 years ago...sure, we want the right call, but we've seen that backfire before too.
