The day after the Travers was a relative ghost town at the Spa compared to yesterday's fireworks. Every UICers favorite lone-speed horse, Soul P Say (according to the contest selections), was running in the sixth race. Soundsofsaratoga is part of the Castle Village Farm group that has a piece of the horse, so we headed into the paddock to watch him get saddled...
He set the pace to the top of the stretch, but faded to fifth at the finish. Disappointing, but he was claimed from the race so the guys get to find another horse. Our attention turned to the featured eighth race, where a certain member of Bourbon Lane Stable was anxiously awaiting the race in the winners' circle...
Bourbon War ran a great race, hitting the front in mid-stretch, but got run down late by, yeah, a Chad Brown horse. We really wanted to see a win here, damn. Undaunted, CherokeeScot perservered and had a Saratoga Special beverage with a friend...

I'm trying to recall all the different brands of beer Bev sampled while I was in town but my cognitive skills are currently on the vet's list. Ran into Jonathon Kinchen late last night on Caroline, best thing today for both of us was a dark Monday! Let me tell you about the crazy blonde girl in Clancy's after that..............oh nevermind.
