Anyone paying attention to the Little League World Series? Maddy Freking is the 19th girl to play in the LLWS! I wonder if any UIC members have played in or been to this great summertime event...

LLWS is my number one sport to watch. I have never been to it yet, but I’m getting close to getting there. Of course, it will mean missing Travers Day at the track. Came close to missing it this year, though, for a lessor reason.
Next year, or the next, is our goal. It’s great stuff. It’s real.

I took my son Saturday. 4 dads/coaches from our park and 5 kids. Was an 8 hour drive for us, but so worth it. Amazing day. Really a must for every baseball fan, even if you don't have kids. Terrific atmosphere and just a lot of fun. Food was a little pricey, but no charge for admission/parking, makes it a great deal too.

That’s awesome Elk. That is how everyone I’ve talked with describes it....”Well worth the trip”. Can’t get better than that.

We stayed about 2 hours west in Dubois PA. Really the only negative of the whole trip was the 2 hour drive back to the hotel Saturday nite with full car of sweaty dudes and young dudes who spent the last 12 hours out in the hot sun. LOL. My money is on Virginia (SE) beating Japan in the final.
