Since I can't pick any winners at Saratoga, I'm going back to work in the UK for a while. Some nice races at the Curragh (IRE) today, Newbury (GB) on Saturday, and then the big four-day meet at York (GB) begins on Wednesday the 21st.
Going is yielding-to-soft at the Curragh-
Curragh 4:40- 2yo MDN 7F: Of those with a race already, fancy #7- Edward Hopper (5-1) and #9- Luke Short (20-1), who should improve today. FTS #22- Brook On Fifth is well thought of, with an entry to the GI Fillies Mile at Newmarket in October by J. O'Brien.
EXBOX- 7,9,22
Curragh 5:10- 2yo HCP 6F: #2- For The Trees (7-2) broke through in her fourth try, but ran even better in previous start at today's distance. #3- Phase After Phase (6-1) wasn't badly beaten by Monarch of Egypt and Celtic Beauty, improvement expected on the stretchout.
EXBOX- 2,3
Curragh 5:45- 2yo Curragh S. (listed) 5F: Upset special here with #7- Millisle (6-1) who won big at first asking, hope she can handle the off going today.
WIN- 7
more to follow...

Curragh 6:15- 3up Irish St. Leger Trial S. (GIII) 1 3/4MI: Unusual racing occurrence with full brothers (4yo Master of Reality and 3yo Eminent Authority) competing. Also, in this six horse field, Joseph O'Brien trains four, his dad trains the other two. #1- Master of Reality (9-5) has had three solid races this season, length defeat by Stradivarius in last points him out. #4- Southern France (5-2) seemed unfocused in last three starts, can't see a form reversal today. #3- Downdraft (8-1) has progressed nicely this year, big win at the distance last time.
EX- 1/3,4
Curragh 6:45- 3up Royal Whip S. (GIII) 1 1/4MI: #2- Buckhurst was impressive winning a GIII over C&D in June. #3- Sir Dragonet (3-5) just missed in Epsom Derby after two monster wins to open his account. #4- Guaranteed (4-1) returns to a better distance for Jim Bolger, should be thereabouts at the finish. #6- Nickajack Cave (20-1) has done little wrong in four career starts, all at today's distance, big class test today but value here.
TRI- 2,3/2,3/all

Should have played Buckhurst separately in the win pool, he paid $11.40. Still a good day, showed a 50% profit. I'll keep on with my expatriate gambling ways.
