To my experienced albeit untrained eyes, he looked great this morning. Walked onto the track like he owned it, and looked very, very comfortable in a sharp work. You get the same lack of experience as Justify and Magnum Moon but a far better price. Of course he isn't nearly as accomplished either.
 The fact that Mott who is one of CD's best ever trainers, but one who doesn't (Lucas comes to mind) bring any 3 year old with a pulse to the Derby. seems like a tell. Can anyone whom knows the owners advise if they were likely the motivating factor in this decision, or if it was Mott?

Can’t imagine Abdullah pushing for a Derby start. Finished 2nd with Aptitude and Empire Maker in their 6th career start. Aptitude and EM made their first start in Oct of 2yo season,Hofburg in Sept.
Would imagine those Arrogate babies will be their next best chance,or maybe a Frankel.

I like him to fill out the super ticket and maybe the tri. He will be rolling at the end.

At some point(and it could be as early as Saturday)I think he'll be at or near the top of this crop of 3yo's.
The breeding and talent are there so it's just a matter of when for Hofburg if he stays healthy.

A 1-2-3 finish or a troubled traffic trip off the board wouldn't surprise me here.

Belmont/Travers type horse IMO and a must use on Saturday.

But The Belmont isn't anything like the KY Derby though. Belmont always seems like a real specialist kinda race to me. My favorite TC race actually.
