May as well start a thread on my favorite golfing major. Will post odds as we get closer to tee off. Anyone up for a contest? If Mr. Hauck is leering, we need ya Jerry! Has anyone (Mr. Hendry) played this track? Tiger gets another shot to try and catch Jack. Many young guns are primed. Phil fasted 4 days and lost 15 pounds they say to get in prime shape to win!

Tiger might be lucky to make the cut. If he plays his usual game, I think he's 60/40 he'll make it. It's probably 35/65 he finishes in the top 10 - and I think the "35"s being generous. Of course I could be wrong.
Odds from CBS
William Hill has Tiger at 28/1
Rory McIlroy 8-1 Brooks Koepka 10-1 Dustin Johnson 12-1 Jon Rahm 14-1 Tiger Woods 16-1 Justin Rose 20-1 Francesco Molinari 20-1 Rickie Fowler 25-1 Xander Schauffele 25-1 Patrick Cantlay 25-1 Tommy Fleetwood 25-1 Jordan Spieth 30-1 Justin Thomas 30-1 Adam Scott 30-1 Louis Oosthuizen 30-1 Bryson DeCahmbeau 30-1 Jason Day 40-1 Hideki Matsuyama 40-1 Matt Kuchar 40-1 Henrik Stenson 50-1 Paul Casey 50-1 Graeme McDowell 50-1 Gary Woodland 50-1 Matt Wallace 50-1 Marc Leishman 60-1 Sergio Garcia 60-1 Tony Finau 60-1 Shane Lowry 60-1 Patrick Reed 60-1

TW ran a Masters pool,I stepped in late for the PGA and US Open. Anyone have a good British pool idea and want to run it? Hooper

No ideas for a pool but I did make a few plays.
Kuchar at 40-1 to win and top 7. Dechambeau at 33-1 Willett at 125-1 to win and top 7
I just can't get enthused about any of the shorter priced guys including Koepka.

Tommy Fleetwood is currently tied for the lead and I really hope he'll won it. It seems he's always close to the leaders but never seems to get there.
I meant I hope he wins it if none of Spanky's picks do.

Rain and wind on Sunday,4 shot lead far from safe. Some juicy odds here. Hooper
The field vs Lowry is +155 Shane Lowry, 4/7 Tommy Fleetwoood, 7/2 Brooks Koepka, 10/1 Justin Rose, 20/1 J.B. Holmes, 40/1 Rickie Fowler, 50/1 Jon Rahm, 60/1 Jordan Spieth, 80/1 Lee Westwood, 100/1

So far, Lowry holding up well. A couple of mine hanging in the balance, Brooks top 5 and Xander vs. Henrik.
Edit: just saw Xander is 4 in arrears to Henrik, so that one is toast.

Only thing that kept my interest was a Willett top 7 bet at 25-1. Win bet at 125-1 was never a possibility.
Finished T6 but I think my payout gets chopped up with four guys finishing 6th. Anybody know how that gets proportioned?

Four way rock, paper, scissors? The Cooler effect is real. I believe I could bet on every possibility but one and....well.. " src="//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/superangry.png">.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Open. Got up early to watch each day and Shane Lowry was a great story. Vey happy for him.

Big, let us know how they paid out that Willett wager.
Mixed bag for me: the Brooks bets hit (also had Brooks v. Dustin) but lost the Xander and also a Molinari v. Fowler bet.

Got back 1/2 of the full amount. The math on that wasn't entirely clear to me but I found a golf odds calculator that does the payouts involving dead heats for placings.
Back on Willett (80-1) in the St Jude Invitational. Trying Dechambeau (28-1) again after the no show in the Open.

Ya, that sounds right as that tie comprised 6-9 finishers. If they were all separated by a stroke, 2 of the 4 would’ve been winners.
Good luck on this week’s shots. Probably too much feast/famine for me to play winners given my current acct balance
