Will gallop the field to defeat if not impeded. Simply too much horse despite inexperience....covers the ground better...
Good Magic... could not have prepared any better or in any better hands. Will run his best race all things considered..

I would not try talk anyone off of Justify. He meets my #1 handicapping tenet: the race goes to the swift. If I use him it will probably only be defensively though. Having said that what are the lowest odds you would accept?

Thanks Duds. I think the Derby off odds, almost always a fascinating topic, is even moreso this year.I think 3-1 is what you will get. But the 2nd through 7th odds could be all over the place.

Haven't checked it and it's maybe one of those either meaningless stats or one destined to fall eventually, but mentioned on the Thorograph forum, Storm Cat line is 0-51 in the Ky Derby.

Storm Cat 0-51, interesting.Know Scat Daddy 0-13 of the 51. Then the o-for on Apollo, the o-for on the Dubai angle....a lot of o-for. Makes for some interesting decisions.

I don't know if this can actually be backed up by statistical analysis, but I have always thought a bit of "turfy" breeding was helpful on the CD dirt- any thoughts?

Shoes, I have always felt that way. Turf breeding is a good attribute to have in my opinion. Steve

Turf breeding? The first two dams of Hofburg combined for exactly 1 dirt start and that was a rained off the turf stakes race at Belmont. The second dam won that race. Hooper

Nice job Dudley! You brought clarity to the chaos of the Derby. $69.60 for that exacta is just mind-boggling.

Nice call Dudley. They were my top two as well. Had exacta and tri. Would have liked GM on top but Justify is another American Pharoah.

Had a saver trifecta, but most of my Oro went to Bolt, and the saver did not save me. Great horse and nice call, Dudley.
