Bris gave his Fla Derby a 107, which looks a lot better than Beyer's 99. Seeing Audible and Magnum Moon right next to each other on the CD feed this morning, Magnum looks huge and Audible small. In a 20 horse field being smaller and theoretically more nimble, could be an advantage. Audible seems to relish the track. I am coming to like this horse more and more. I think he has a great pattern on the (Bris) form getting faster as he gets older and his races get longer.

Audible is my first toss. His CD in his dosage is 1.17 and in his conduit mare he has a Speed of 14 and Stamina of 11 with a high index of 1.32 which all tells me that he will hit a wall at about the 1 mile pole.

That was my thought as well, that Audible is lacking a bit in the stamina department to pull off the win.

I thought Chrome was a bit shy in stamina breeding too. That didn't work out so well for me. Audible closed on the field at Gulfstream and he has gotten faster at least per Bris as the distances have increased. Shouldn't we consider what he has actually done on the track? What was the illusion?

Considering he's won his 4 races while finishing fastest of all in those fields and 2 of them were at 1-1/16 and a 1-1/8, I would not expect him to hit a wall at a mile. If he were an E8 or E7 or even an E/P7, I would agree with you. But in the Fla. Derby there was a very fast early pace and Audie sat chilly behind the pace then closed like Casey Jones, clearing the field by 3 lengths. I'm not trying to convince anyone he's anything close to a lock , or even a lock to hit the board, when we all know there are several in this field that would be no surprise if he won. BRIS labels him as an E/P4 but in the Fla. Derby he ran like a stayer. I'd say this pony indicates he could run any way he needs to run to get the job done.
The usual caveat applies - "I could be wrong".

For the first time in many years I did not form or play the Florida Derby card at Gulfstream. For those that did can you advise if there was any track bias that day? I ask because of the impact on my evaluation of Audible's and Hoffburg's performances.

Interesting that JR audibled off Audible in favor of Vino Rosso and that Javvy audibled to Audible instead of Bolt D'Oro.

Since JR has ridden Vino in all 5 of his races and Audible has been 3 times JR and 2 times Javier, it's possible this was Todd's preference. It may have also been an inducement for Javier to get off a Bolt which he may not have done for Vino? Just throwing it out there.

Interesting scenario there shoes. Now I have to wonder if JV, who has always been Todd's go-to-boy, chose to ride Vino or was forced to do so. I can't quite picture Todd telling JV something like "Kid, this ain't your night. We're going for the price on Audible." I could assume JV might be thinking Vino is a better horse than Audible but if not it would take Todd a lot of persuasion to talk me off the better ride with $120,000.00 at stake.

Didn't listen to the vid but the article on DRF said JR got first choice, presumably because he was last to ride Audible. Also quotes Javvy as citing loyalty to TAP as a factor in his decision, but it's the KY Derby and you have to think TAP wouldn't hold that against Javvy had he chosen Bolt.

Not my night?
It wasn't him, Charley (Todd), it was you. Remember that night in the Garden (day at Churchill)you came down to my (jock's)dressing room and you said, "Kid, this ain't your night. We're going for the price on Wilson. (Audible)" You remember that? "This ain't your night"! My night! I coulda taken Wilson apart (won the Derby)! So what happens? He gets the title shot outdoors on the ballpark and what do I get? A one-way ticket to Palooka-ville! You was my brother, Charley, you shoulda looked out for me a little bit. You shoulda taken care of me just a little bit so I wouldn't have to take them dives for the short-end money.

I don't know if longshhot meant "toss" from ticket or toss from the win spot. Myself, I am tossing from the win spot but will probably use audible underneath. Remember when UPS backed Big Brown? That audio book company, Audible (Amazon.com) is now backing......audible. I love it when this happens.

Really intrigued by the horse but the hats are hideous...
Looked him over good this morning, especially back at the barn post gallop. It’s obvious there has been quite a bit of work with the front feet but looks fine to me. This issue is likely the explanation as to why he was not training as well to the clockers eyes before the FL Derby and we saw how much that mattered at the finish of the race. In the same shoes since before the FL Derby and will be reshod this week so will want to see him after that (guessing Wednesday or Thursday).
