Might have been the 1st DQ in a $1 million dollar race, not sure. #6 Frans Valentine,lime green silks, swerves for a couple of strides at the top of the stretch. Watch closely. Hooper

May have been struck by the whip of the jock on the horse inside of her in the pink silks. Timing of the swerve sure makes it look that way.

It appears as if the jockey started looking to his right at the same time his horse moved to the right makes it look like it could have been intentional. However since it appears that he did not interfere with any of the horses that were in contention for a piece of the purse, I'd call this "No harm. No foul."
What actually happened Hooper?

Ridden by P Valenzuela. Was dq'd to 10th. Owned by Earl Scheib who painted many a car. Stewards took down Gate Dancer later in the day.
