My top BC Classic moment
Back in '93 when I was at The University of South Florida and my Dad was back home in Trinidad, we would call each other every big race day and compare notes. I was and still am a huge fan of Andre Fabre, and read an article somewhere where Fabre stated that Arcangues had back problems and thought he would be ideally suited to the dirt track at Santa Anita. That was enough for me, I told my dad that I liked Arcangues to which my dad, (who normally never critiques someone else's pick) stated " SON ARE YOU ON DRUGS ?!) Apart from the shock of Dad's response,the fact that I was smoking a joint at the time, really threw me. How the hell did he know what I was doing ? Of course he didn't know and I was actually able to compose myself and answer No !! The rest is history, I had Arcangues across the board and in an exacta with Bertrando.
